Fantastic serum but a worrying ingredient
This is way beyond any reasonable price I would suggest for a serum, but there are some merits to this product. It is chock full of lots of natural ingredients known to be beneficial for skincare and comes in a fancy bottle that you twist in order to open and close. The consistency is a lot like a cream rather than the clear, liquidy serums I sometimes come across. Each pump only has a little bit of a cream…for full coverage I typically try to stretch 2-3 pumps and I definitely try to get the neck area so this also gets the skin benefits. So far, I have no complaints, and using it in combination with other skin products seems to be working well for me.However, there is one small caveat I’d like to caution against until we have more information, and that is the Physalis angulata extract. This plant is actually a part of the nightshade family which contains many toxic plants. Sure, you can eat tomatoes and eggplants just fine even though they are also part of the nightshade family, but you normally only go for the fruit, not the leaves. I believe this serum uses the leaf extract, which is known to have some level of toxicity. How much? Currently the research seems mixed on the actual toxic effect, and normally the test subjects (mice) ingest the extract, not put it on the skin. There is not much information on the actual toxic effects in humans, but I would proceed cautiously before going crazy with products that contain this ingredient. There are some studies pointing out how this plant can be an immune stimulant and be toxic to cancer, but if its toxic to cancer, could it not also be toxic to your own cells? I feel like we need to study this extract more and be absolutely sure that the AMOUNT we put on our skin, DAILY is safe for humans.With that being said I am sure some would argue that I inhale, eat, or am exposed to environmental toxins on a daily basis. Important things to consider are concentration, how often I am exposed, and whether I KNOWINGLY put the toxin in my body or not. I feel like it is reasonable to expect a product (a >$200 product, no less) to be absolutely clear on its ingredients in its product page so none of its merits are in question. Either way, I do appreciate the opportunity to use this product but I feel that having a nice breakdown of what each ingredient does would be appreciated.

Great serum jam packed with the finest ingredients (small issue with the bottle)
So I typically am not someone who would typically shell out this much for a serum. I got this through the Vine program which allowed me to try a number of luxury brands. I didn’t base my review of this on the price but thought it might be good to know.I have heard a bunch of great things about this brand. It seems to be the go-to for the dermatologists at the clinic I went to. This seems to be a popular one for a lot of professionals in this field. This seemed like a nice serum to get a host of great ingredients and I do think it was.The product goes on and it feels comfortable on the skin. It is slightly more viscous than something like a toner and it is very much a serum-like consistency. It doesn’t feel stuffy and it also feels hydrating. It will take me a long time to get through this bottle but I do think it is helpful. It was genuinely a nice serum and I appreciate having the opportunity to give this a whirl.I was a little surprised to see how clunky the bottle was given the cost. It is your typically airless bottle but the pump pops up after twisting it. Usually that means that you can bring the pump down completely but this was not true of this one. I don’t know if it was just a defect but I cannot lock it. When I put it in my bag, I found that it pumped out some in my bag which was not a fun experience. The product itself is good but the bottle makes it feel less of a luxury product. I know that I ‘m nitpicking here and I like the serum very much. I understand a little bit why this is considered reliable and dependable skincare.

Not worth the price
The product lasted 2 weeks! That is absurd for the price of this product. I really wanted to like it but it’s such a rip off. It should last at least 6 weeks or longer. Don’t recommend. I’m going back to skinbetter.
