My Most Used Book
I couldn’t possibly quantify the amount of time I have spent using this book alone to research herbal formula, energetics, and indications. For both the beginner and the advanced, Herbology East and West explains herbs and their functions in such a practical way. The reading is simple yet thorough; the information is necessary and interesting.This book covers ALL the things: there is an intro to Ayurvedic theory and history, a section on dosha and doshic qualities, srotamsi, dhatu, the six tastes, description of creating herbal formula, herbal formulas, herbal compounds, recipes using western and eastern herbs for specific ailments, precautions, indications, rasa, vipak, and virya… everything. From the student ( would not have graduated without this book) to the practitioner to the curious, if you are interested in Ayurveda and/or herbology- you NEED this book.

Excellent resource
This book is a wonderful resource for Herbalist especially those, like myself, that teeter back and forth from Western and Eastern formulation and thought with clients and how we formulate. His in depth review on herbal preparations and herbs in the monographs are most valuable and can be attributed to his many years as a master clinician.
