Pricey but really seemed to work on very problematic skin
Never heard of using beef tallow before on skin but this product isn’t just beef tallow, it’s tallow from grassfed cows. When I saw this I jumped at the chance to try the product because grassfed cows are the way cows are intended to be fed vs being fed corn and soy and weird by products. Salve arrived no problem, cute box. Salve is white and smells great. Besides tallow there is healing Manuka honey (which isn’t a cheap ingredient) and chamomile.How did it work? For me it felt great and smelled nice on my skin. But I don’t have super dry skin. My sister does. Her’s is so dry she has to use dermatologist approved type lotion. So she used it and on day 1 said “feels good smells nice.” Day 2 she said same thing. Day 3 she said “I think my skin feels a bit softer, not sure.” Day 6 she said, “definitely seems to be making my problem skin area softer.” So she who has problem skin gave it a major thumbs up.I know the salve isn’t cheap. But it seems to be a high quality product and it seems to work. So for those with seriously dry skin and have tried all sorts of other lotions and salves, this is definitely worth a try.

At 2.5 oz, this is a fairly small quantity of this whipped balm. Thankfully, it’s contained within a dark-colored, glass jar, so I don’t have to worry about lingering contamination from an irredeemable material such as plastic. The lid is easy for me to open and close with my weak, painful hands, and it was even very easy for me to lift away the protective barrier beneath the cap without having to resort to using a tool. Examining the labeling, I see indicated that this is made with 100% grass-fed beef and uses Organic Jojoba Oil. In contradiction, I don’t see Jojoba Oil among the listed ingredients, which are listed as follows: grass fed beef tallow, manuka honey, olive oil, calendula extract. I see indicated that this product was “designed and dermatologically tested in USA,” and that it was made in “PRC.” I don’t see mention of from where the ingredients were sourced.The balm itself does have a whipped consistency, much like softened butter. Because I wash my hands way too much, they’re almost always incredibly dried out with painful, bleeding cracks. I try to deeply moisturize them when I think I won’t be washing my hands for a while, especially before bed, which provides noticeable results when using certain moisturizers I‘ve had to discover via trial and error. I do have to use a fair amount of this balm on my hands, because the dry environment of my hands absorbs it so quickly, and this leaves them feeling very nice with only a slight amount of “greasiness” that I actually prefer over complete dryness. After applying this before bed, I’ve been sealing it in with a collection of oils I was already accustomed to using, and my hands do appear to heal up better overnight when I use this. Finally, I want to mention how much I love the subtle and agreeable aroma, which is somewhat citrusy.

I’ve been using this Whipped Tallow Honey Balm for a couple of weeks and love it! I wanted to try the beef tallow skincare trend, and this brand stood out because the ingredients are so minimal and clean: grass-fed beef tallow, manuka honey, olive oil, and calendula. That’s it — all things I can pronounce.I’ll admit, I was nervous about the smell (imagining my face would smell like steak), but to my surprise it smells great — light and pleasant. The balm is whipped, so it feels rich and creamy but still melts right into the skin.I have dry, mature skin, and I’m always chasing hydration. I use this at night after my usual toners and serums, and it layers beautifully. I wake up with soft, plump skin that feels nourished.
