I appreciate the quality
I thoroughly investigate dietary supplements before purchasing, and was pleased that Best Naturals tests both their raw materials and finished products, and conducts quality audits. I feel confident taking their Calcium Citrate, knowing I’m getting exactly what I purchased. The tablets are a little large but they are relatively easy to swallow. Definitely a good value.

Not hard to swallow
As you can see there were some broken tablets. They are wasted because of the sharp edges. However there weren’t a lot brokenThe dosage on these is a little higher than what I had taken before; meaning I’m getting more calcium with fewer tabletsThey aren’t coated but they don’t stick like a vitamin C. So, in spite of the size I have no trouble swallowing them. Sometimes a coating contains polyvinyl alcohol and I don’t want to poison myself.Lastly, the price for these is low, making me like them even more.

1. The label says that there are “240 TABLETS” in the container and that each “serving” provides 700 mg of calcium and 400 IU of vitamin D3. I suppose I should have noticed that switch from “tablet” to “serving.” Foolish me. A serving, it turns out, is 2 tablets. So how come the “120 servings” isn’t on front of the label in print as large as the “240 TABLETS” instead of in the back in a font one-third the size.2. I usually don’t have trouble downing pills, even large ones. But there’s something about these tablets that, for me, makes them hard to swallow. I’d guess it’s the graininess of the tablets’ exterior.3. It seems to me that there are more broken tablets in the bottle than is the case with other brands of calcium tablets I’ve used. (See photo showing some of the bits and pieces.)

It is a decent price for the supplement but way too big to swallow (a horse pill) especially it is non coated what was I thinking ! I will switch back to my old purchase from another company if company remakes it to a smaller pill maybe

The most common form of calcium available on Amazon, in pharmacies, or prescribed by doctors, is Calcium Carbonate.However, Calcium Carbonate can prove significantly problematic for people like me who have a history of stomach problems (e.g. stomach ulcers, highly acidic stomachs, reflux, heartburn, indigestion, etc…) – it makes all your problems much worse, on a daily basis. Trust me !So, after researching, I found that Healthline, WebMD, and the NIH, all recommend Calcium Citrate for those with stomach problems as it is exponentially more gentle on the stomach.I take my two daily tablets as follows : I leave them to fully dissolve in a little water, then I add Live yoghurt and milk, stir the whole lot producing a “Calcium Lassi” (or “Calcium Ayran” for those who only know the Turkish equivalent) and I have that with my meal. Not a single hit of stomach problems.I like this Best Naturals brand because the daily recommended value (2 pills of Calcium Citrate + Vitamin D) gives you 54% of your daily recommended Calcium and Vitamin D – so no overdosing, leaving you to top up your daily intake of Calcium and Vitamin D through food such as yoghurt, milk, cheese, etc… I think this half-dosing is a very well thought out formula from Best Naturals.

They are very good value for money and seem to be working well if my nails are anything to go by – my nails are long and strong. The tablets are large & the dose is two at a time. I especially like that it is calcium citrate which is easily absorbed by the body unlike the calcium supplied on the NHS which can cause kidney stones. The addition on Vitamin D is a great plus and I no longer have to buy this separately. Very pleased with my purchase.

VERY effective calcium wise but not good for the muscles+bones long term since theres no magnesium gluconate… otherwise very very high quality stuff 🙂
