K-Beauty is always so innovative!
As a woman of “a certain age” I have pretty good skin despite falling off the skincare wagon somewhere in my 30s. Although I rarely wear makeup and avoid the sun like a good little vampire it’s time to stop tempting fate and take care of what’s left!I’m a sucker for new serums so, when this became available for review, I decided to give it a try. While you can’t SEE the microneedles (or maybe you can – those could be the “sparkles” that show up in my photo!) I can assure you there is SOMETHING in this product; in my uneducated opinion I would describe it as a sensation of incredibly finely ground glass (sounds awful but that’s my layperson’s assessment). I don’t notice any tackiness and the scent is virtually non-existent.In my opinion there is no pain but if you have sensitive skin or are hurt easily this may be a bit intense for you!It’s hard to speak to the effectiveness because if it’s something you’re already taking it’s hard to notice a difference in the way you look and/or feel. At the same time, if it’s new to you/your system (which this definitely is!), it usually takes a while for any real benefits to show up. I haven’t noticed a dramatic difference in the way my skin looks/feels but if that changes as time goes by I’ll update my review accordingly. I’ll update my review when I finish off the bottle; I think the current list price of $35.40 is quite reasonable and I would consider ordering it again.Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful.

Be sure to TAP it into skin as it contains spicules
This review is for Charde PDRN Volume Shot Ampoule, which is made in Korea. This product has spicules so be careful when using. I did not read the directions since I was so excited but luckily I was doing my patch test on my wrist. I RUBBED the product in because it is thick and immediately I could feel the pricking sensation on my wrist that comes with using spicules. You are supposed to TAP the product in because the spicules are tiny particles that penetrate the skin to deliver the serum deeper. Rubbing could cause microtears in the skin and lead to irritation. The serum is light pink and it is very lightly scented…it almost smells like nothing unless you really sniff it.After the shock of the wrist I lightly tapped the product in, being VERY careful to avoid the eye area. The serum will leave you shiny as it dries so you may want to blot after or apply a mattifying moisturizer, again being careful to tap and not rub so you do not dislodge the spicules, which could cause eye irritation. You will feel a tingle as the spicules do their work but this is normal. The PDRN helps to really moisturize the skin and this works great overnight to leave you with plump skin the next day.At a price of $35.40 for 1.01 oz I think this is a decent value for the money as a little bit goes a long way.I did not experience any irritation when using the product, apart from the tingle and you can see the ingredient list in the final image.

Didn’t realize ampules can cut your face
I gave four stars because I didn’t realize it was ampules and it cut my face and my nose. Otherwise the product is pretty good

tap it in, don’t rub — the directions are right about that. i’ve been trying a few charde products lately and really like this brand. they’re a korean company that mixes science-based ingredients with that luxe, glass-skin vibe — things like salmon dna (pdrn), niacinamide, collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.this serum feels light but rich at the same time — it goes on like a silky gel, absorbs fast, and doesn’t leave any tacky layer. it’s moisturizing without feeling heavy, and gives my skin a soft, bouncy finish right away.i slot this into my a.m. routine, right after cleansing and before moisturizer and sunscreen. it layers cleanly and preps my skin really well. definitely pair it with SPF during the day — there’s no sunscreen in it, and niacinamide always plays best with sun protection.for absorbency, it sinks in beautifully; for value, it feels like something double the price. overall, lightweight, hydrating, and a really well-made serum that makes skin look smoother and more even.also, they list ingredients in their listing. This product requires you to follow the instructions very carefully.
This is a slightly unconventional skincare serum from Korea which caught me off guard. I was previously unfamiliar with spicules and it’s best to follow the instructions provided on this serum quite carefully when you see this ingredient listed, and better yet, gain an understanding as to what this type of product is and how it is intended to be applied to the skin PRIOR to application. Spicules – used in serums, are an alternative to microneedling treatments and they can and will cause a rather unpleasant sensation if applied incorrectly. I sort of found this out the hard way and even after I washed it off and gave it a second try I’ll admit I was a bit shy of the product since I knew first hand that it has the potential to cause pain.So, this is not a serum for a beginner. It is an advanced skincare treatment intended for experienced skincare enthusiasts who understand the nature of spicules and how to apply this for maximum benefit.The ingredients, formulation and presentation are all top notch here as this product has all of the hallmarks of a high quality, world class Korean skincare product. That said, this product is not for me, and I know now what to avoid when ordering serums online. This is a five star product directed at more experienced skincare enthusiasts than me.
