Works great for recovery from knee surgery
Scheduled knee surgery, then wondered what items may be available on Amazon and stumbled on this….game changer. Absolutely amazing product that hasn’t left my side in the past 3 weeks.How it works. You load water and ice in the cover bag. Make sure the pump which is attached to the hose is secured at the bottom of the bag. Plug in the pump to an outlet. Wrap the therapy pad around your injured area (velcro bands included). Click it on with the little control box and the ice water will flow through the therapy pad.It is heavy when you load ice and water but it’s manageable. The bag will produce some condensation so I kept the whole thing in a waterproof beach bag and kept towels handy. I haven’t experienced a lot of leakage from bag or hoses, a little here and there but nothing bad.The therapy pad is large enough to cover my knee and when water is turned on it completely chills my knee, deep enough to reduce or eliminate pain.I froze 9 water bottles to rotate, I have been using 4 during day and 5 to get through the night. If I fall asleep without setting the timer the water will be body temp water when I wake. When awake, I can get through most of the day by switching on and off when my knee is chilled/warm.It does a great job of thoroughly chilling my knee.

Good… not quite perfect
Love the concept of wrapped cooling and it’s been a blessing after knee surgery.Works well. Cools quickly. Easy to use.Downside: requires frequent ice refills; and the water seeps through the seam at the bottom so you have to turn it upside down, pull up the inner lining and let the water drain out each day. That gets old quickly and makes it much heavier than it should be, and also compromises the water level to circulate the cold water as it vanishes under the seam.

I was looking for a Cold Therapy Machine for use after Total Knee Replacement Surgery. The one my doctor offered was $500.00 and I didn’t want to spend that much! This product is fantastic and is available at a great price. As I started using it I realized that it had advantages that I hadn’t realized when I purchased it. For one thing the size is great, it is smaller than some of the other machines I saw, but what you have to remember is how heavy they are when filled with ice and water. I use 5 20 oz soda bottles filled with water and frozen, along with cold water from the fridge. It gets good and cold, you will feel it right away. It reduces pain and inflamation and is so comfortable to use. My dog damaged a cord and I was able to get a replacement very quickly from COLDSOOT customer service department. I was glad that I didn’t have to order a whole new unit, but I would have if necessary! You will be so thankfully for it!

Easy and helpful
I ordered this to replace the ice machine we got after my husband had his first knee replacement. We had gotten one that had a traditional ice chest and it worked fine but we let someone borrow it and never got it back. I went with this one because it was so much cheaper than the one the hospital tried to sell us after my husband’s second knee replacement surgery. Having used both types of machines, I can tell you that this one works just as well as the more expensive ones. It comes with easy to understand instructions and is easy to set up. The insulated bag keeps the water very cold and the pad you attach to the knee is form fitting and stays in place. I like that you can set it to run for different amounts of time and that it is super quiet while running. It’s easy to move around and it doesn’t leak at all. Very happy and impressed with this machine!

Great machine if you like to continuously, wake yourself up to restart it
I just had a total knee replacement, and my doctor instructed me to ice my knee for 30 minutes on, then 30 minutes off, continuously for 72 hours. I purchased this cold therapy machine because it was advertised as having a timer, which I thought would make this process easier—especially at night.The machine does have a timer, but the problem is that once it shuts off after the preselected time, it does not automatically restart for another cycle. You have to manually get up, reset it, and turn it back on. This completely defeats the purpose if you’re trying to follow strict medical instructions, especially when rest and sleep are so important during recovery.Having to constantly wake up every 30 minutes just to restart the machine is exhausting and makes recovery harder than it should be. A true timer function should allow for repeated cycles (30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, automatically) without constant user input.On top of that, the company offers zero customer service support, which is very frustrating when you’ve just had surgery and need assistance. Thankfully, Amazon’s customer service representatives were kind and helpful, but the lack of support from the manufacturer itself is unacceptable.Good thing to share-The machine does provide good cold therapy while it’s running, but I would not recommend it for anyone who needs continuous timed cycles—particularly for post-surgery use. Until the manufacturer improves both the timer functionality and their customer support, this product is not worth the hassle

Wow, cold and quiet.
Wow, quiet and cold. I love how quiet it is and all the functions.You can turn down the flow so the cold is a little less. You a set to to go off in 15,30 and 60 minutes.For me I like the size easy to travel with or when you live in a small house like me it does not take a lot of space.The only thing so far I’m not happy with is I do not see where there is more cloth insulation barrier’s to be purchased. This one is very thin and I’m sure won’t last.I’m guessing if you sew you could make one. If not you could wrap your area with a thin cloth under it.
