This product is fantastic for oily hair! Most bar shampoos leave a residue that weighs my hair down, but the Detox bar leaves my hair feeling super clean and light. It also reduces oiliness throughout the day so I don’t wake up with stringy hair the next morning. And a little goes a long way; it lasts longer than I expected as long as you let it dry out between uses. The scent is unique and refreshing—I look forward to it every morning!I suggest using conditioner as needed (every other day works for me) because this shampoo does tend to dry out long hair.UPDATE: A year and a half later, this is still my holy grail product for oily hair. I love it! I also use it on my t-zone; they make a soap for your skin, but I actually prefer the shampoo bar instead. It’s great for oily skin (especially in summer), and it doesn’t irritate my somewhat sensitive skin, though I do have to moisturize a bit more when I use it. A+++ product for my skin/hair type!

Has a lovely, light scent. I’ve been using various bar shampoos for the past 4 years, and my hair always looks healthy and shiny. This bar soap, is no exception. Cleans my hair well. I don’t tend to have shampoo or other hair product buildup, so I’m not sure that my hair was “detoxed,” but it came out clean and healthy, as I said. Took a little more to lather than some of the other bar shampoos I’ve used, but no big deal. All in all, a positive experience.

Imma start with the fact that I have learned that I don’t patchouli. The scent is very pungent and I can smell it every time I go into the bathroom. And I have a wax warmer in there.Strong scent aside, this shampoo bar is amazing. I have a serious undercut and my scalp and short hairs feel amazing. If they have a conditioner bar, I didn’t look. I paired it with a deep conditioner from Cantu and my hair feels better than it has in ages.I’m allergic to some of the ingredients in the other bars. So I’m stuck with the patchouli, but that is a sacrifice I’m happy to make if my scalp and hair get to feel this great.I might update this review later as I only wash my once or twice a week, so I might come back in a few weeks with more news. For now, buy this shampoo bar. It’s fantastic.

My first shampoo bar
Lathers well. Just a few swipes along the hair and the lather is there. I have fine hair and this seems to dry it out. Also, the smell. It smells like dirt. Not a pleasant scent at all but it dissipates once my hair is dry. Doesn’t dissolve or crumble like I thought it would. It’s holding up very well (I keep it in a plastic soap container). Will try other kinds but the smell on this one will keep me from re-purchasing.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Much too scented. My husband found it unusable for that reason.

love love love !!! I have tried so many products to rid my scalp of itchiness , dryness, oiliness , and flakiness etc.. and all have failed . this product resolved everything the very first time i used it . the smell is amazing , and works as aromatherapy for me and my hair is shiney and soft and i didn’t even use the conditioner . just make sure you have enough water while washing or you don’t get the rich lather and full effects .
