Bring your body into balance with over 100 healing recipes for a modern Ayurvedic lifestyle.
The ancient science of Ayurveda teaches that food is divine medicine with the power to heal–but the best foods for one person may not be beneficial to another. Unlike many diets with rigid, one-size-fits-all guidelines, Ayurveda is a lifestyle that recognizes the ever-changing needs of each individual. Join author Sahara Rose on a journey to wellness and discover how to eat according to your body’s specific needs. Identify your Dosha, or mind-body type, and find out what foods are best for your body. Learn how changes in season and climate affect your digestion and how to adjust what you eat accordingly. Rather than focusing on calories, you’ll focus on food qualities. Rather than focusing on macronutrients, you’ll focus on tastes–and you’ll feel better than ever.
Fall in love with cooking as you explore more than 100 plant-based, gluten- and dairy-free recipes for every meal of the day, including contemporary twists on classic Ayurvedic cuisine, such as turmeric-ginger kitchari and gut-healing seaweed broth. Simply Ayur-mazing!
After reading Sahara’s “Idiot’s Guide to Ayurveda” (also highly recommend) I was thrilled to hear that she was coming out with a cookbook complete with modern-day Ayurvedic recipes. After receiving the book, I am blown away-not only by the delicious and wide array of recipes- but also by the quantity and quality of general Ayurvedic information contained, plus the pure beauty in the imagery and design. As a “millennial” concerned with both my own mind-body health, and the health of the planet, I absolutely loved the idea of Ayurveda, but was previously intimidated and overwhelmed by the prospect of a complete diet and lifestyle change. After reading “Idiot’s Guide” my fears dissipated, but I was still concerned if I would be able to successfully implement the dietary changes without additional guidance, or becoming bored with my meals; enter “Eat Feel Fresh”!This book contains so many delicious and flavor-filled recipes from different ethnic regions, for all different tastes (who knew I would be able to find Thai, Italian, Southwestern, Moroccan etc. dishes in a cookbook based on an ancient Indian health system!) I am overwhelmed in the best way by all of the different sections; from dressings, sauces, and soups, to snacks, desserts and potions, this cookbook goes well beyond any I have seen of its kind. This book proved to me that there is absolutely no depriving yourself when following an Ayurvedic path, and that plant based/processed food-free dishes can taste even better than the original (as someone who is lactose intolerant, but loves cheese and sweets, I will be forever grateful!) The individual recipes themselves are both beautifully formatted (the photos alone will make me want to keep this out on my counter just to flip through) and easy to follow, and my only problem will be deciding which dish to try next!In addition to all of the amazing recipes contained in “Eat Feel Fresh” I also loved the informative pages preceding them; from the general knowledge about Ayurveda, to sections on alkalinity, and the chakras; with deep dives into each Dosha and how they change and relate to taste, I am amazed at the amount of information contained in this book. It is not simply a recipe book, it is an easy to follow guide on bettering your life as a whole, starting and ending with food, but also with so much more.I cannot thank Sahara enough for creating such a well thought-out book, and I am so excited to curl up with a Golden Mylk potion and learn more about Ayurveda!

finally, an updated take on Ayurvedic with emphasis on alkalinity
I’m not even sure how I came across this book because I have never heard of her but I am so glad I did. I have studied Ayurveda casually for decades and find it wonderfully adaptable and definitely life-changing, but the traditional suggestions for an Ayurvedic diet were so heavy on dairy and grains I always found that element to be out of touch. Like the author, I was once a raw vegan for a long time and it was helpful initially, since I’m a Pitta and lived in a hot dry climate, but over time it just weakened my digestion and of course, disaster ensued. I experimented a lot over the years with various ways of eating and food prep and recently realized that for my best health it’s all about alkalinity and avoiding inflammation. That’s honestly something everyone could benefit from but I’ll stick to my own story for the sake of objectivity and authenticity.First, I am struck by how beautiful this book is. As a lifelong bibliophile I loathe paperbacks and was delighted to see this as a hardcover book and quite affordable. The pages are a heavy duty matte finish, which is lovely to the touch and will no doubt prove more durable with frequent use over time. The aesthetic value of this book cannot be overstated, either. Even the layout and presentation of the text only pages is lovely and makes it all easy to skim or flip through for specific information, though this book is a treasure trove of useful and applicable information so you’ll want to read it cover to cover. The recipes are lovely and very straightforward. There is some initial investment in some things you might not have on hand (like Ashwaganda or Shatavari) but they are not expensive and can be easily obtained online or at health food stores and it is well worth the adaptation. These are meals, snacks and beverages which are meant to be pleasing to the palate, easy to create and deeply healing. I absolutely love that. As she comes from a raw food background as well, this is the first Ayurvedic book I have seen which addresses that and makes room for including that in your life. You don’t have to be fully raw to benefit from those foods and you don’t have to give up all raw foods to incorporate Ayurveda into your life. I personally find that during the hot summer months, including more cooling raw dishes is the perfect path to keeping my fiery, acidic Pitta constitution happy but during the cold winter months I limit uncooked foods to some fresh fruits and creative salads with healing homemade dressings. So you can see that Ayurveda is also quite intuitive and remarkably easy to adapt to your body type (dosha), climate, season, age and current state of health and this book will make it very easy for anyone, even someone totally new to Ayurveda, to flow with this ancient way of living which offers so much timeless wisdom. As a 30+ year yoga practitioner (and 13+ year teacher) who has been fascinated by Ayurveda as a sister science for a long time, I find this beautiful, lovingly-created book to be an invaluable resource. I offer my deepest gratitude to Sahara Rose for the passion and creativity she poured into this offering.

Cookbook of my wildest dreams. Healing Magic!
If I could give more than five stars I would, because this book provides the reader with so much more than delcious, inspiring recipes. The beginning is filled with teachings on ancient Ayurvedic medicine applied in a practical way to today’s age.If you practice yoga, then you definitely need this book. Its a great tool to aid your healing journey and transform your yoga practice into something that extends to all aspects of your health and well-being. I felt drawn to this book because of the pretty colors and pictures as the photography is just stunning. Beyond that, the actual recipes are so easy to follow and mind-blowingly delicious.I made the sweet potato and lentil shepherds pie as my first recipe, and was amazed at how it utilized foods I already had in my kitchen, and nourished my pitta imbance by providing me something warm and grounding. I am learning so much, and can’t wait to try more recipes every week.I have shown all my friends this book because I believe it has very powerful tools for healing us on a deeper level that everyone should be aware of. So thankful I found it!

I was already into Ayurveda when I discover Sahara on Instagram but I was lacking of concrete advices and receipts ideas. I decided to buy “Eat Feel Fresh” and her first book “The Idiot’s Guides of Ayurveda” to dive deeper into Ayurveda. The first book is a very comprehensive book about ayurveda, doshas, food et life style – Very easy to read.Eat Feel Fresh is definitely one of my favorite cooking book. The book is SO beautiful, all the pictures and the writing are absolutely great. You really feel hungry just by looking at it. There is a good diversity of receipts and they are all very well explained according to your dosha. I haven’t tried everything yet but so far the receipts tested are great and taste so good. There is also many dessert receipts, as well as soups, juices or warm drinks. This book is now my reference when I wanna cook something healthy according to my dosha. Very good investment !
