Echinacea is truly a super herb
I began taking tincture of echinacea angustifolia in 1974. I would buy it by mail from a pharmacy in Philadelphia. This is long before almost anybody had heard of it or used it. I looked up the applications for this herb in an herbal, Mrs. Grieve’s Herbal, and I thought it sounded like something that would be efficacious. And it was. The following year I looked up golden seal and thought it sounded like a good herb to be using, too. I don’t recall anybody else using these health giving herbs that long ago. Just me. I would look up an herb and if it sounded worth having I would call Boericke and Tafel, my suppliers, and request that they make me a tincture. Another favorite of mine was elecampane. Have you ever heard of that one? It never got adapted for mass use. At least so far. Another wonderful discovery of mine from 1974 and ever after has been tincture of myrrh. That one is also now widely used. Great for infections. Whenever one of my cats gets into a fight and has a wound that gets infected a very diluted topical application of myrrh always takes care of the infection. The cats don’t like it because it stings but it is so quick and works every time.I swear by the echinacea and I am so glad that it has become widely adopted by millions. It is really great for fighting cold symptoms. And combined in this liquid form with the golden seal the two herbs together will really be useful. Back in the day the tinctures always came as alcohol, which was my preference. Now that echinacea and so many other herbs have become mainstream the alcohol tinctures have fallen out of favor. I think they were slightly better. The marketplace can be slow to adopt good ideas. Although, like me, you can be an early adopter.This is good stuff. Nicely packaged, a quality product.

Not the tastiest, but a pleasant easy way to take these supplements
After somehow managing to catch 3 ‘summer colds’ already this spring, I decided to really try to work on boosting my immune system. I’ve tried echinacea before, usually in capsule form, but have trouble really remembering to take it regularly.This little bottle supposedly can hold a 45 day supply, making it competitive (and more compact) vs. the bottle of pills. As it recommends refrigeration after opening, it’s sitting on a shelf and serves as a good reminder to take it (haven’t missed a dose yet so far).The taste is…not the most pleasant. I take their suggestion of adding to water, and even then it’s a little bitter, but such a small amount it still goes down easily enough and doesn’t leave a lasting aftertaste.If I had to come up with a complaint, it would be the dosing directions. It states “combine one full squeeze of the dropper”, but I’ve found the amount you get with this type of pipette isn’t an exact science, which is why most dosers of this type have a line to try to indicate a correct dosage amount. But given that echinacea and goldenseal overdoses aren’t a strong risk, and being a little light likely won’t make a huge difference, it’s not a complete deal breaker.Overall, I like the format of being able to take supplements this way, and have to trust the amounts of the effective ingredients are in place…and I’m hoping to put an end to my string of colds!

My Go-To Treatment for Colds, Works Great
I always try to keep a supply of Echinacea on hand, and I very much prefer the tincture to the capsules. In my experience, the tincture is faster, more effective, and much easier to swallow. This blend of Echinacea augustifolia root, leaf, flower, and seed and Goldenseal root works well if taken at the first sign of a cold. The recommended dosage is one full squeeze of the dropper mixed with 2 oz of water or juice, to be taken twice a day. I seldom have to take Echinacea for more than a full day to head off any oncoming cold, so this bottle should last me for quite some time. Both the Echinacea and the Goldenseal are organic, vegan, and made in the USA, all pluses for me. The bottle I received doesn’t expire until 03/2025, so that gives me plenty of protection through the next to cold and flu seasons. I consider this a good value and a nice addition to my medicine cabinet.

I love that this extract has a pleasant taste after adding it to your water or drink. The best way to describe the after taste is that similar to chocolate milk. I’ve been using this daily to help boost my immune system and have noticed that my sleep schedule has improved along the way as well. Most recently a loved one got sick with the flu and with the help of this extract I was able to keep myself from getting sick.

It’s organic immune support herbal supplements
It’s natural echinacea and goldenseal. Nothing like having sinus infections. Immune system in older people, like myself is low. We need the extra help , boost and this is what the product does. It will give me that extra boost in my immune system. So far I feel better taking it. I don’t feel drain. Easy to use. I use it in my sweet orange juice every day, taste isn’t so bad. A great value!

great herbal tool to have in your medicine cabinet
i thought this was a good deal on a 45-day supply for this well-established herbal immune booster. it’s been a while since i’ve used it but for a good chunk of my life i always had some on hand, so since it’s allergy season and i’m prone to allergies turning into colds/infections, i thought it might be a good idea to try it again. anyone who has ever taken this knows it tastes like dirt, but it’s not so bad if you put it in some water or tea, maybe even with honey. it does really help.
