Best overall meal plan
I bought this book several years ago and it’s the one I keep coming back to. Dr. Oz understands that for a diet plan to work it has to taste good and be based on normal food. This plan follows the Mediterranean Diet. You don’t have to read the book but there’s a lot of useful and easy to understand information. Dr. Oz gives a 3 week meal plan with PHOTOS and shopping lists. The first week is kind of expensive because you have to get the staples, after that it’s pretty cheap, lots of produce. I’m not a fan of quinoa but you can substitute brown rice. He also includes a 3-day cleanse which is pretty awesome and a lot of extra recipes. I’ve probably bought at least a dozen similar books, but this is the one I use when I need a reset. I don’t have time to make frittata before I go to work or bake muffins three times in a week, like I’ve seen in other books. You will have leftovers…so if you’re only cooking for one or two you can really just pick like 3-4 dinner recipes each week. You won’t regret getting this book if you want a good meal plan to follow, and what Dr Oz says is true…..food can fix it!

So funny story…I was down with the flu and when I wasn’t sleeping I started binge watching Dr. Oz. (strange I know, but I plead fever,and delusion). He was touting the need for B12 and suggested Nutritional yeast which I had never heard of,so I bought some of that. Then of course they were plugging the book, so I bought that. Got to love Amazon Prime. Remember I was sick so I had a lot of time to read,so I read the whole book, as I was inspired to keep off the weight I had lost while being sick. This is perhaps the only GOOD thing about this darn flu.I like the conversational tone of the book, (especially since nobody really wanted to talk to me and be subjected to germs and listen to me cough) and the information is explained pretty thoroughly. I didn’t strictly follow the 21 day plan, but I did add some things to my diet I hadn’t been eating,and I got more ideas for recipes. I have been trying to eliminate processed food from my diet,and I think this helped me take it up a notch. I wish the recipe prep part was written in a step by step rather than paragraph form. It would just be easier to follow in steps. I loose my place in the paragraph.I am well now and have continued to eat “fix it foods”. I do notice a difference in my stamina now that I finally got my strength back. I am also forcing myself to eat in the mornings and it does keep me much more lever throughout the day. I will continue to use the recipes and reference the book.

Sage and simple info from Dr. Oz!
I have not read all of this book yet but will, one of my New Years resolutions is to eat healtier and this book is easy to follow and you don’t have to read the whole thing to start, can start and gain more wisdom as you read, i.e., has a plate diagram that is a good visual queue on portions for a meal and what each food group should be in each portion, and some pages that give you the basics to choose when shopping and cooking. And the recipes are pretty easy (and delicious so far). This is not a fusy who has time for this kind of approach. Anyone can do this! Love it, thank you so much Dr. Oz!

Fish can fix it
I must say for the science of this book and him explaining what food does to your body it was an excellent book but if you’re allergic or hate fish this book is not for you because most of the recipes include some kind of fish and he doesn’t really give you a good alternative so I only gave him three stars sorry dr. Oz

Very Informative Book by Dr. Oz
I already had this book and decided to order it for my son. He’s cooking more and always looking for healthy meals. I find it informative and very educational. I haven’t tried all of the recipes in the book, but i’ve learned a lot about the effects certain foods have on the body. I would recommend it. However, if you’re on the fence, your local library may have it in stock.
