    It’s working so far!
I know that these kinds of products take TIME to really work to their full potential, so I may end up coming back and editing my review in the future, but FOR NOW I do like the results I’m getting after using this a couple times daily for almost two weeks. I stabbed myself in the meaty part of my palm exactly two months ago tomorrow, and ended up needing some stitches. Even after the stitches came out and the need for bandages/protection was done, the scar itself and the skin around it was super tight, always felt dry, and was actually continuing to flake/peel in a couple spots. My regular body and face lotions weren’t really helping much – like, they did at the time of application, but after some time, or any time I washed my hands, the same tightness would return. I figured giving something like this a try couldn’t hurt, and I’m SO glad I found this stuff. While there hasn’t been much of a change visually yet (the bump/line is still definitely there, and it’s still discolored compared to the rest of the skin on my palm), the FEEL of both the scar itself and the surrounding skin is SO much better than it was before. Everything feels healthier – the scar tissue isn’t has hard/firm and it moves a lot more when I press on it and massage the area, and the skin around it is moisturized and soft. The peeling/flaking has stopped completely, and even after I wash my hands everything still feels nice – the area where I’ve been using this gel/cream/lotion/whatever actually feels better overall than the same place on my other hand, so it’s definitely helping and isn’t just the passage of time in general that’s causing the changes. I still have a pretty good knot (about the size of a marble, or maybe a little smaller, like the steel ball bearing from inside a can of brake cleaner or paint, I guess?) under the surface of the skin and scar, so I don’t think that will be going away any time soon, BUT I’m hopeful the appearance of the scar on the surface will start to go away with continued use. Honestly, even if the scar never LOOKs any different, the way it FEELS now compared to a couple weeks ago before I started using this stuff is enough for a five-star review. I’ll definitely be buying another tube when this first one is gone, because I have a couple other scars from clumsy injuries over the years that it would be kind of neat to diminish, too. Honestly, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that this has worked like it has so far – we only use silicone lubricant for grown-up fun times (not sure how much I can/can’t say in the reviews to stay in compliance with community guidelines!) and I have always loved the way my skin feels pretty much anywhere/everywhere my skin comes in contact with the silicone lubricant, so this silicone scar gel working in a similar way tracks!

    Results TBD…Maybe SOME Improvement.
My thoughts on the Silagen Silicone Scar Gel? Apologies in advance for the long review, but I wanted to share the full picture in case it helps someone else.I’ve been using this on a couple stubborn scars—one from a burn, another from a bug bite that went rogue—and while I haven’t seen dramatic changes yet, I’m cautiously optimistic. The redness seems a bit less intense, and the texture might be smoothing out, but it’s still early days. I’m sticking with it to see what happens. The routine is simple enough: clean and dry the area, gently massage until you feel a little warmth (oddly satisfying), then apply the gel and let it absorb. I’ve been using it 2–3 times a day like they recommend, and it absorbs quickly—no greasy mess, no sticky residue. Just soft skin and a sense that I’m doing something proactive.I do appreciate how lightweight and gentle it feels. No weird smell, no irritation, and it doesn’t clash with my other skincare. It’s supposed to support collagen production and skin renewal, and while I can’t confirm that yet, I’m hopeful. Even my older scars seem a little less inflamed, but I’ll need more time to say for sure. It’s also versatile—this gel claims to work on everything from surgical scars and stretch marks to burns, bites, and scrapes. I haven’t tested it across the board, but it’s nice knowing it’s not limited to one type. And if you know someone dealing with scars and feeling self-conscious, this could be a thoughtful gift. It’s dermatologist-recommended and made with 100% silicone, so it feels like a safe option. What I would change-? It’s an awfully small tube, a bigger tube with more would have been better.TL;DR: If you’re dealing with scars and want something low-maintenance that might help, Silagen is worth considering. Just make sure the wound is fully healed before starting. I’m still waiting on visible results, but so far, it’s promising enough to keep going.

    Promising result!
I’ve been using this scar gel daily and have noticed a gradual improvement in the texture and color of some old stretch mark scars. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy feel, which is great for my oily skin. I also appreciate that it’s fragrance-free and gentle enough to use on sensitive areas. The gel has a light, smooth texture: not too thick or sticky, and spreads easily. It creates a breathable barrier that keeps my skin feeling hydrated throughout the day. I apply it morning and night, and after a couple of weeks, I’m already seeing smoother, more even skin.It dries down nicely without any tacky residue, and when it’s time to reapply, it comes off cleanly with a gentle wash; no peeling or scrubbing needed. So far, I’m really happy with the results from consistent use.

  4. Star-Studded

    Not A Gel!
I needed a 100% silicone gel for my mastectomy scars. HBM Medical Silicone Scar Gel is not actually a gel. It has more of a creamy texture like lotion, which led me to believe it has more than silicone in the product. I contacted the company and they provided me with a complete list of ingredients. Unfortunately, I cannot continue to use this product for what I intended it for. However, if a person wants a silicone scar treatment that’s moisturizing, breathable, non-sticky, and easy to apply, then look no further. It immediately rubs into your skin so you don’t have to wait for it to dry. Some of the ingredients include: Pure water, Silicone Oil, Glycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine (TEA).
