Stunning Eye Cream That Performs Like a Luxury Product- and fragranced like one as well!
Oh how I wish that this eye cream from Danahan wasn’t so strongly scented, it is otherwise perfect.Let me start by saying that the packaging of this is absolutely gorgeous – luxurious and beautiful with intricate engraving on the lid with a glossy finish – the jar looks lovely sitting on my vanity and feels great in the hand. The jar has much more product than your average eye cream, I was impressed with how much cream you get with this. At 1oz it’s almost double the amount of my previous eye cream.The cream itself is thick and rich and a little bit goes a long way – it feels wonderfully soothing and comforting on my under eye area and works wonderfully to hydrate and moisturize before makeup. I’ve been using this in my morning skincare routine after toners and serums, and while most of my skin is combination, my under eyes are chronically dry and my concealer used to cake and crease before I started using this. In the three weeks that I’ve been using this I’ve been so pleased with how smooth and even my concealer stays all day. This cream does not feel sticky or greasy on my skin and absorbs quickly leaving my skin feeling smooth and soft. It has a skin friendly pH of around 5.5 according to my pH test strips and is loaded with herbal ingredients that I had been researching (mushroom and turmeric root extract and two types of artemisia extract) as well as some of my favorites like urea, dipotassium glycyrrhizate (licorice root extract,) and panax ginseng root extract. This combination of new to me ingredients and old favorites has intrigued me due to the strong performance of this – particularly the fermented ingredients which I have recently been exploring in my skincare.Unfortunately, this has a very strong fragrance, and being right next to my eyes (and therefore nose) it’s very noticeable after application, however it does fade pretty quickly after I apply my suncreen, so it’s not a deal breaker for me. The fragrance isn’t offensive, it’s herbal and slightly floral, but it is strong.Overall I’m very impressed with the performance of this cream, the value of this product, the beauty of the packaging, and I would be interested in trying other products from this brand, but I would be more inclined to try unfragranced versions if they are available.
