Increased focus and energy
I first started using a ginseng product about a month and a half ago. It contained some ingredients I didn’t like, so I did some research and found this product which is so much better. This product is very potent. I only take it once early in the morning and I feel it working for the first half of the day. The recommended dosage is five pearls several times a day. I take 3-4 in the morning and I feel more focused and energized. I’m going to experiment with taking 3 more in the early afternoon. So far, I’m really pleased with this product. This is a well respected brand.

I’ve been taking ginseng for years but the brand I use has been out of stock for awhile so I needed to try something new. These ginseng pellets had good ratings and reviews so I figured I’d try them but that was a mistake. The taste isn’t too bad but there’s got to be something they are using to make these that severely disagrees with my stomach. I’ve been taking a minimal amount of these ginseng pellets (5 a day) and they cause gas, indigestion and nausea. And just to be sure I’ve stopped taking them for a few days and the symptoms went away only to return almost immediately after taking another dose. Ginseng is supposed to make you feel good not gassy and sick, these pellets and all the money I spent on them are going in the trash where they belong.

Opinion from a South Korea (ROK) Expat
The “Ginseng” industry in South Korea is highly competitive; a walk through of any Seoul market will find stores with Ginseng cans of all sizes (and costs) stacked to the ceiling, and each “brand” will state that it is the most “pure”. A lot gets sold to tourists who often pay unscrupulous store owners 10x the usual price for an often inferior product. This is not to say that Red Ginseng is bad; I’ve used Red Ginseng root for years, including this brand, but it’s a buyer-beware purchase requiring some research before shopping. The following points are made to help those new to the market make an informed choice.I gave the item a “Four” rating because my product box was open when it was received. Someone had pried open the box and removed and replaced the bottle; It may have been done by customs, but the item should have been culled and not shipped to a consumer. I will not use the product as I can’t validate that no tampering has occurred.- Jung Kwan Jang (CheongKwanJang) is a respected brand in Korea. The Korean Ginseng market is highly regulated, and big sellers’ products carry government authenticity stamps. There are dozens of copycats in Asian markets that will make their packages look exactly like the big sellers, so buyer beware.- This product is derived from Korean “red” Ginseng. US-produced ginseng is also available, but its potency is considered somewhat inferior to that of Asian Red Ginseng.- Be aware that this product only contains extracts of the red Ginseng root. One serving of five pills only contains 379.6mg of active (alleged) medicinal agent (ginsenosides). According to most ginseng manufacturers, 300 mg- 3 g is the ‘usual’ safe extract dosage, so this product is on the lower end of the effective scale. However, the highest quality Red Ginseng roots can cost thousands of Won, so the amount of Panax extract per serving of this product is a reasonable value based on its price.My bottle and box were both ‘Date’ and ‘Lot Stamped’. The bottle expiration date as marked is beyond 48 months, this is a nod of quality to the manufacturer for transparency and freshness of the product.Overall, I remain neutral on this product and seller. Cheong Kwan Jang is a respected company, and while the amount of active ingredient is low per capsule, the brand does produce authentic Panax Ginseng derived from Korean Red Ginseng. Each bottle and box is lot and date stamped for freshness. I recommend that the manufacturer shrink-wrap the bottles to protect consumers if the box is opened, as happened to me, during shipping.

Pricey, and didn’t seem to do anything
I took this as prescribed until the entire bottle was empty just to be sure I gave it a fair shot before reviewing it. I’ll be honest, I did not notice a single difference in my energy level or experience any other indications that it had any effectiveness in my body. I love the smell of the pills, and even though it says not to, I chewed some of them. They taste pretty ok, too. But I did not notice any improved focus, energy, or anything else. While the quality of the product appears to be high, and certainly the packaging is nice, I do not think I could recommend these as a good value for your money.
