Great Product
The product is great. It is low sudsing so it is easy to rinse and to rinse cleanly. It has a nice scent. It is not irritating or “burning” to a sensitive scalp and is effective in “calming” an “angry” scalp. My daughter uses this product for her super dry and sensitive scalp, and she is pleased with it. She has long curly hair. No residue or build up. Leaves hair clean.I was not pleased with the packaging when the item arrived, but I think this was an Amazon issue. The bottle was sealed in a plastic bag, but the bag got a hole in it. The product lid came open and product leaked out into the bag. Some of the product then leaked through the bag hole onto other items I had in the package. I was disappointed in losing product and for my other items getting prooduct on them. But– this is a packaging issue of Amazon, not an issue with the item.

My Fave Shampoo for Years to Come
I am a long-time user of this natural ingredient shampoo. I originally started using it bc I wanted to reduce the number of chemicals I put on my scalp and in our waterways. I normally order the bulk size bottles of this and its companion conditioner (32oz botttles) straight from the Max Alchemy website. However, I don’t use the heavy conditioner in the summertime.The scent of this shampoo ranges from herbal to citrusy, depending on the batch. This last bottle was citrus-scented, but the scent goes away fairly quickly after your hair is dry. It takes a splash of water on your head after the shampoo and then you can work it down to the roots (bc there is no chemical ingredient just to make it foamy, like in cheap shampoos). Does a wonderful job of getting my hair clean but does not strip the hair of all of its natural oils. It is mid-priced for shampoo, but definitely a value for a shampoo that cleans gently and uses plant-derived ingredients.

Dammit, this shampoo is amazing if you have hair. Yeah, you were expecting me to list a bunch of issues? Well, I can do that: fine hair, folliculitis, dandruff, inflammation of any kind, brittle hair, damaged hair, short or long, etc… this shampoo might even make you a martini after and listen to your bad day. I only take off one star because it never, and I do mean never goes on sale. Maybe during the crazy, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, twice a year sale, but I’ve never managed it, so I purchase it sparingly.

Scalp feels lighter, relaxed. Says good for all hair types including color treated. It’s so concentrated even with my long hair, only a tiny bit is plenty, so you get your money’s worth. I do like the conditioner more & conditioner really softens my hair more then this shampoo.Within 2 uses, my hair felt softer & a little shinier. After now THREE MONTHS, my hair is very soft, very shinny, supple/soft more then it’s EVER been since I was a kid. My hair looks perfect for a hair care commercial. Yes, it’s flatter, but used to be white person’s afro from all the frizziness. It’s nowhere near flat iron flat & my natural curls still have body. I’m not sure if this shampoo is a little drying, but I definitely love the conditioner. Don’t expect added volume, just curl definition/smoother.Check out the manufacturer’s site by looking up the name. No, not being paid for this, just good, natural product & hope with this to make sure they keep producing it due to demand.Can look up the brand’s website if local health stores have it or order through them or here. The absolute best!
I went sulfate free about 10 years ago. It was a hard transition for my mind but an amazing one for my hair. I’ve used countless popular (and expensive!) products that have worked okay but not satisfied my desire for some lather. I bought this Scalp Rescue shampoo just looking for something different. I didn’t expect much, but was completely blown away after using it just one time! It smells amazing and has a ton of lather. I’ve never had this much lather from a shampoo that claims to be sulfate free. I love it and my hair loves it too. Scalp Rescue gives a nice deep clean. I have curly hair and only wash about once per week. This shampoo is completely amazing!!!

Best shampoo ever!
I used this several years ago and don’t even know why I stopped. Probably the expense at the time. So glad I re-ordered finally. This is the ONLY shampoo I’ve ever found that does not make my scalp itch. Natural mild lemony fragrance but definitely not overpowering, and not perfumey (all of which would make my scalp itch). You only need to use a small amount, and I would add that conditioner is a must afterwards, at least for me. So I’ve got to re-order the conditioner as well. THANK YOU, MAX GREEN ALCHEMY for such wonderful products!

I was previously using Nature’s Gate Shampoo ([…]) and it worked GREAT! Took a bit to get use to the smell, but now I love how it smells. I’m going into the health field so I’ve been trying to experiment with natural products so instead of going with Nature’s Gate again, I decided to try this shampoo. Nature’s Gate has kept me dandruff free for 4 months now and after the first use of this shampoo, my scalp started itching…when I scratched, I noticed I was SNOWING! So everything it said it helps with…it did totally opposite.I bought this and the conditioner…so far I like the conditioner. I’ve been using that with what I have left of nature’s gate shampoo and I’m pretty happy with it. I still like the smell of my other conditioner better though ([…]) and it seemed to work just as well. Both my older shampoo and conditioner are also considerably cheaper! I’d recommend those of this product.
