It is standard fish oil. I won’t talk about the benefits, you can research those yourself and talk to your doctor.Normally, I take the Kirkland enteric coated pill twice a day. Instead, I’ll be taking this once a day. Less than the two Kirkland pills, but still around the 1 gram I need.In regards to value, these pills (or something comparable) will be much cheaper at your local warehouse store. However, I don’t currently have access to one, and buying online is FAR cheaper than your local drugstore.These pills are your standard gel coated pills and are HUGE. You will choke on this if you don’t use a glass of water!If you can deal with the large size, these are pretty great.

We have taken fish oil for a number of years and I like Member’s Mark as a mail-order option via Amazon. Five years ago, the only way to get this concentration of EPA+DHA (900mg) in one pill was to purchase from G-N-C, which even in 2011 equals about 34 cents per pill (MM cost: 16 cents per pill). Most large retailers sell a comparably sized pill but you need TWO pills to get 900mg of EPA+DHA, doubling the per-dose cost.Compared to the G-N-C and VitaminShoppe house brands of Omega 3’s with equivalent single-pill EPA+DHA, the Member’s Mark pills are of equal size and all encapsulated in gelatin to reduce burping. Personally, I think taking the pill(s) at night with a light snack helps, but that’s just me.Label Supplement Facts:PER ONE PILL – 15 calories; 1.5g fat; 5mg cholesterol;1400mg Omega-3 fatty acids from Mackerel, Sardine, Anchovy OilEPA – 647mgDHA – 253mgOther ingredients: Gelatin, glycerin USP (kosher), purified water USP, pectin and calcium chloride USP. Another reviewer, Flo, stated “Sunlight and light degrade the product, reducing potency and shelf life.” That’s true, but I won’t allow the clear bottle to deter me from continuing my use of the product. I have dark-brown bottles I can transfer the capsules into if I need to, however my cabinet door also has a door – which I’m fairly confident will keep out the light and sunlight. This is conjecture, of course, as I’ve never sat in the cabinet with the doors closed – still, I feel confident in my theory. The reasons I’m sold on this product is that (1) I no longer have to take 3 capsules of another brand just to get the same potency, (2) I take this capsule after supper and never experience any fishy burps, and (3) Look at the price! My joints pop a LOT less, my skin is finally less dry and flaky, and I’m sure all the other, unseen benefits of taking Omega3 are working their magic inside me. SCORE!
