Do not like the smell.
This is my first time trying a Magnesium calming lotion, and sometimes I do have a hard time relaxing at bedtime, so I was excited to try it. I really like the dispensing pump, and the lotion has a nice consistency, but I do not like the smell at all. I can see how this could be helpful with relaxation because of the ingredients, but I could not get past the smell, and it lingered on my bedding, which I was not happy with. This lotion may smell different for some people, but it did not agree with me.

Interesting Combo
This MG12 THE POWER OF MAGNESIUM MagneCalm Rest Lotion combines two powerful forces, magnesium and melatonin but in a lotion form rather than capsules. I love this because for whatever reason, oral melatonin has never worked for me. It doesn’t help me get to sleep or stay asleep yet the next day I feel terrible. So I am thrilled to find this product. The lotion itself has a very nice consistency and rubs in very well. It feels moisturizing and the scent is delightful, not too strong, not too weak. Lavender and chamomile work together to make this very pleasant. When it says fast-acting pain relief it’s true, at least for me. I like to apply this on my lower back before bed and then my sleep is pretty good. This is a generous size bottle and worth the money. Nice product.

Doesn’t smell the best, and a little pricey
For how much this costs I would have liked for it to have a nicer smell and texture, but it does seem to put me in a relaxed mood ready for sleep. I get dry skin and my hands get cramps from typing all day long so I keep this on my nightstand and even though the smell isn’t great I find myself reaching for it because it’s the only lotion there and I will say it seems to be working. But instead of smelling like lavender, it just kind smells like floor cleaner or something. And it has kind of an oily texture, which transfers to fabrics, making my sheets and pillowcase seem to get dirty faster. 4/5. I’d keep an eye out for a similar product in a lower price range.

Super restful sleep! Sometimes grumpy though
This potion is awesome! It doesn’t make my skin itch or tingle like other magnesium lotions and sprays. It’s also very moisturizing and smells good (like lavender and chamomile).It contains melatonin, so just beware if you’re sensitive to that. I apply 2-3 pumps and spread it over my tummy, upper thighs, and sometimes chest right before bed. If I can get a full nights’ rest, I wake up super refreshed.Unfortunately, my 4 year old usually has other plans and often times wakes me up in the middle of the night. I’ve noticed I get VERY irritable & grumpy if I wake up too soon after applying it. Like.. VERY angry. That’s not typical for me!! I have to be careful now, so if I think he’s going to have a rough night I skip it (like when he’s sick).It’s very affective though!! They need a kids version, now that I think of it 😂

Fantastic Fragrance! – Soothing & Relaxing Effect
I often experience some muscle cramping in my calves. It feels kind of like a restless leg ache. I sometimes take magnesium before bed to try to help those muscles relax. However, I had never used magnesium in a cream until finding this product. This MG12 lotion has an absolutely amazing fragrance. It’s so refreshing and cooling. It’s easy to apply and seems to absorb quickly without leaving a sticky or greasy residue. Within about half an hour after applying it, I do feel some relief to my muscle pain and ache. So far, it does seem to be working, and it’s definitely easy to use. There is a noticeable relaxing effect for me, and it has been helping me sleep better with less muscle tension.

Convenient Dispenser But Doesn’t Smell Great
I’m a fan of Magnesium lotions because they are quicker and simpler to use than soaking in Epsom salt. This lotion has a convenient pump dispenser that makes application even easier. It feels lightweight on the skin and absorbs quickly. The lotion contains melatonin, which I understand is good for skin care, but I’m doubtful it has much effect on sleep when applied to the skin. While the product claims to have lavender and camomile essential oils, I didn’t think it smelled like either and found the aroma unpleasant.

Relaxing, Pleasant but Strong Scent
I ordered this MagnaCalm Rest Lotion because I have trouble getting to sleep, and as I already take magnesium, I thought this would be a convenient way to take in a little more.I like the pump style bottle (although it does seem prone to leaking). It’s easy to apply. The instructions say to apply 2-3 pumps (shown in pic is the amount of 1 pump.) It feels very nice on my skin and it does absorb really well. I found the scent to be pleasant, but quite strong, and the scent remains for hours.I do find myself more relaxed awhile after applying it, so I believe I will continue with it. I have slept quite well every evening I’ve used it!

A nice treat to add to your bedtime ritual
This is the first magnesium cream I’ve tried that is not greasy or messy. It is very easy and soothing to apply at night before pulling the covers up. It also does a good job of moisturizing. I apply it on my lower legs, mostly to the shin area that always need extra lotion. I take a minute or so to massage it in; this isn’t necessary as it absorbs quickly but it feels really nice and adds to the relaxation.The scent is quite light and mild. There is definitely lavender, but the chamomile seems to balance it out and keep it subtle. The lotion is kind of pricey but a little goes a long way! It takes some time to build up but I do see it making some short term improvement. I look forward to continued use and benefits.
