Used it during my last pregnancy and loved it. I don’t think it helped all the way but honestly during pregnancy rarely helps all the way, but atleast it was helping to control it. Recommend!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Every pregnant/postpartum mom needs this product. Even someone that just suffers with hemorrhoids could benefit from this product. One of the only products that has actually worked for me.

Light relief similar to Earth Mama Bottom Balm, but much less scented
Reviewing this as a pregnant mama who has also tried the Earth Mama Angel Baby Earth Mama Bottom Balm. They are both EWG 0 rated and their ingredient lists overlap a lot (olive oil base, witch hazel, calendula, St. John’s wort, and yarrow). The main ingredient differences are that Motherlove contains plaintain leaf and beeswax, and Earth Mama contains shea butter, candelilla wax, jojoba oil, lavender oil, and peppermint oil. I’d recommend either to pregnant mamas who are looking for light relief and a safer option vs. actual medications with active ingredients (e.g. Tucks, Preparation H, etc.). I don’t find either product particularly soothing immediately upon application (though Earth Mama does offer some cooling sensation), but they both do help to provide a marginal barrier to prevent itching after you poop. However, neither has cured my problem even with regular long term use. I’d say if you have serious issues, you’re probably going to have to use something stronger (possibly waiting until after your pregnancy if you aren’t comfortable using those medications now). Both of these products are great for mamas who want at least some relief that they won’t be worried about regularly during their pregnancy. NB: I’ll also note that the Earth Mama has a much stronger (pepperminty) scent, which is not unpleasant but remains noticeable for some time after application (can be kind of embarrassing e.g. in intimate situations, also maybe not the best for scent sensitive folks); for this reason I personally prefer the Motherlove.

I was super excited for this product due to the great reviews only to be let down before I even got to try it! I just got my package today and opened it up. Not only was the protective “seal” (came off in the lid when opening) not sealed,and there is no outer seals to ensure it wasn’t preciously opened, but there was a big finger indentation in the product as if it had been used! So now im worried that I was sent a used item and can’t use it due to not knowing if it’s been contaminated or not. Also this product cannot be returned/replaced so now I’ve just wasted my money on something I can’t even try! Super disappointing to say the least

Lubricating, but not soothing enough for me
I developed hemorroids in my second trimester of my first pregnancy, and like most first-time moms, immediately started researching the possible issues in my drugstore products that could potentially cause harm to the baby. My Preparation-H was a no-go thanks to parabens, so I found this instead. After just 2 days of use, I was already searching for another option. While this balm was certainly soothing in terms of lubrication, I really missed the cooling sensation of the normal products, and this just didn’t have it. I also didn’t like the packaging very much, as I have to dip my finger into the product – if I didn’t get enough to apply the first time, I have to be careful to use a different finger to extract more, or risk contaminating the product. I’d prefer if it were packaged in a silicone tube or something. Further, because this is an oil-based product, a pantiliner was a must to ensure the product didn’t leak through and/or stain my clothing as it warmed up on my skin (which I admit is a necessary precaution even with normal products, but is still worth noting).I did appreciate that the ingredients are all organic, and that I felt it was reasonably priced. I still use this balm in the middle of the day with a Hemorrwedge ice pack (seriously, those things have been a god-send) in conjunction with another cream product (Alleviate) at night/when the itching is more pronounced. I personally thought that it was not soothing enough for me due to the lack of cooling products (peppermint oil, for example), that might have made me a little more comfortable for a little longer.

I cant remember how i found out about this but it seems to be pretty good to ease things in down below.Only reason not 5 stars is the cost. I managed to get a bigger jar while in the states quite cheap. but i have bought on UK Amazon when its been on offer

I’ve had trouble with hemorrhoids for years and have tried many different products. Motherlove is the best and most effective product I’ve ever used. I would highly recommend trying it.
