According to a recent paper, this product is supposedly good for lowering intraocular pressure, and the antioxidants also protect the eyes. After reading the paper, I ordered this same product and have been taking it. Whether it’s because of that or some other reason, my eye pressure seems to be well-regulated. I chose this particular product/brand because it is 80% catechins and 200mg EGCg, which implies good quality and concentration. A lot of brands do not list this information or have much lower total catechin percentages. Also, this comes in just the right dosage. The directions say to take 1 pill/day.I see no visible effects, as would be expected.I take the 1 pill per day before my meals, sometimes an hour after if I forget. No nausea.This is not a caffeinated product; it’s an antioxidant/flavinoid thingy generally used to reduce inflammation. I don’t see how it would give a person more energy (unless you are suffering from severe inflammation, chronic fatigue, etc.) or make them jittery.An average 8oz cup of green tea contains 333mg of flavinoids (mainly catechins, mainly EGCg), so since this is 400mg and 80% catechins, it sounds like 1 of these pills is the equivalent to about 1 cup of green tea.

Didn’t work for me
I stopped smoking and my food cravings went crazy. Like crazy pregnancy cravings.I then realized no matter how much I exercised, I couldn’t lose weight. My metabolism is completely different now. I gain weight in different areas. Usually I can control the cravings, but some days it’s hard. So I decided to try the EGCg. I will say that I had a lot of energy. Not the jittery type that makes you feel sick. However, I make sure to eat with the medication. Some do empty stomach, but I’d rather not risk it.Appetite suppressant: I don’t even notice I’m hungry until my stomach is so empty I can’t ignore it. The only thing you have to watch out for is that about 6-8 hours later, you might start getting super hungry. So don’t NOT eat, just eat very healthy things.If you’re prone to insomnia, please take this EARLY morning. Even though it wears off about 6 hours after I take it, it will affect my sleep if I take it late morning/early afternoon.Update: it’s been causing intense anxiety and/or anger at the end of my day. I’m extremely sensitive to anything that might poke around my dopamine levels and it seems this does. I didn’t know what was going on, but when I didn’t take it the following day, I could feel a huge difference in mood.

I would not recommend taking Green Tea Extract ever to anyone. I took just one tab in the morning and worked out in the morning for a week. Whenever I took GTE, that night I would be half asleep and half awake. I’ve read reviews where people found GTE beneficial. May be the effect varies and is not suitable for everyone.
