Plant Therapy’s Niaouli Essential Oil is of good quality. It smells fresh and balsamic, with a medicinal and camphorous aroma. Although for some people the smell may take some time to get used to, it’s well worth it for its health benefits. It smells pretty similar to Tea Tree essential oil and has similar qualities as well, although it’s not as popular or well known.Niaouli is known for the following therapeutic properties: Analgesic (pain-relieving), antibacterial, anticatarrhal, antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, balsamic, decongestant, expectorant, pectoral, tonic and vulnerary.Niaouli’s therapeutic uses are for: Bronchitis, respiratory tract infection, sinus congestion, sore throat, catarrh, cough, colds, uterine infection, rheumatism, muscular injury, rashes, pimples, acne, herpes, wounds, cuts & grazes and insect repellent.I remember first using tea tree as a kid and it smelled awful to me. However, breathing in the steam from the oil and water in a pot did help to open up and clear my sinuses and breathing difficulties.I used to get Bronchitis a lot and my breathing always got affected before, and more than, anything else. I used to wheeze and cough, and Niaouli helps to treat both of those symptoms. It helps to make your coughs more productive, which is a good thing.If you plan to use the steam inhalation method, it works best if you hang a towel over your head while inhaling the steam. It creates a more enclosed space that helps to keep the concentration strong for your inhaling pleasure! It’s also effective to dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil and to rub it on your chest and back area in circular motions, especially before bed.Niaouli is great for many conditions, including Pneumonia and painful breathing. Here is an effective, clinical blend for painful breathing due to illness.. use the same number of drops or multiply by the same amount to make a larger blend.Blend for Painful BreathingNiaouli: 5 dropsChamomile roman: 5Rosemary: 5Frankincense: 10Cajeput: 5Blend the essential oils together, then dilute 4-5 drops in 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of carrier oil (like Almond, Fractionated Coconut, Sunflower, Safflower, Avocado, Apricot Kernel).Rub a little over the chest and if possible the back, up to 3 times a day.Here are some possible substitutes that also aid painful breathing: Ho Wood, Ravensara, Eucalyptus radiata, Ginger, Hyssop decumbens, Cinnamon Leaf, Cypress, Oregano (Moroccan).There are many species of plants that are close to Niaouli, so this plant is sometimes referred to as True Niaouli to avoid confusion. It comes from a 60 ft. tall tree that has long been used in indigenous medicine. It has a peeling white bark and fluffy white flowers. Usually the parts that are steam distilled are the leaves and twigs that are harvested from wild-growing niaouli trees.Due to the invasive root system, the tree can cause major environmental problems. Even when they’re cut down, they continue to grow from the stumps.Plant Therapy is a reputable essential oil company, and they are among my top 3 overall favorites. I love that each dark glass bottle has a slick, smooth waterproof/oil-proof label with a matching round label on the bottlecap. So you never have to worry about finding a label for the top or writing one yourself, which I personally dislike the look of. I like the extra little detailed touches. The top labels are helpful when you have many essential oils to keep track of, and need to find the appropriate ones immediately dyring illness. The bottle label and the cap label match in color and the adhesive never comes off.I’d like to recommend one particular essential oil from Plant Therapy that I love: Rosalina. It’s great for helping respiratory issues, boosting mood, and boosting your immune system when diffused with Lemon amd Lavender E.O.It also helps with pain when diluted into a blend. It’s similar to this because it’s camphorous and medicinr, but Rosalina is sweeter and much more pleasant to most people who try it. Just thought I’d throw that in there.Niaouli isn’t my favorite essential oil, but the quality of it is good.Be well! ♡

Smell’s Amazing!
This is the best essential oil I have found to date. It smells amazing. Smells like they stuck the actual fruit in the bottle. I will continue to purchase from this company.

Almost great
I’d give this scent a 4/5. Most of the oils I’ve bought from this brand smells very genuine (except the pine) and this one is almost perfect. It’s not quite as bright as genuine orange scent. Would probably try another brand for this one next time.
