Dr. Steven R. Gundry, the New York Times bestselling author of the groundbreaking Plant Paradox series, shares compelling evidence that our gut microbiome is driving our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and our mental, emotional, and neuronal health—and shows us how to heal our microbiomes to take back control of our minds.
In his previous bestselling books, Steven R. Gundry taught readers how to reverse disease and improve health and well-being by preventing and repairing leaky gut. In The Gut-Brain Paradox, he delves even more deeply into the mysterious and long misunderstood world of the human microbiome. Here Dr. Gundry uncovers the complex and multifaceted ways in which our microbes are controlling the health and functioning of our brains, and how the gut-brain connection is made long before we are even born.
The Gut-Brain Paradox shines a fascinating light on how the one-two punch of leaky gut and gut dysbiosis, together driven by western diets, overuse of antibiotics and other medications, and environmental toxins allow pathogenic bacteria to take over. These “bad bugs” cause inflammation and hijack the intricate messaging systems that run from the gut to the brain, setting the stage for neurological changes, brain fog, neurodegeneration, mental health issues, personality alterations, and even addiction.
However, these changes are reversible. Featuring the latest science, easy-to-follow recipes, and supplement guides, The Gut-Brain Paradox shows us how to eat to restore not only our inner balance, but our mental energy and well-being, too.

Vital Information To Manage Your Health
This book illuminates the critical role our gut biome plays in our overall health, and how that biome impacts our brain’s functionality. As someone with a brain injury and on a crazy high amount of drugs, I can attest to the importance of managing this relationship I ps. Lots of actionable steps to take are offered too, and fairly easy to implement, once you understand how it all works. A clear accessible read.

Love these!
I was recently diagnosed with leaky gut and my doctor recommended this book. It is easy to read and understand. I like that Dr. Gundry includes programs to follow, what foods are OK and what foods to avoid.

Victory: Béchamp
It’s a fairly short read with a relatively beefy chapter of citations at the end, as well as segueing into some advice and recipes towards end.Comfortable binding that sits open effortlessly and uncrowded typesetting. Lots of food for thought and followup that is hard to come through in the videos. I take it on walks for short reads, and look up the citations sometimes later. A wealth of citations. There is not as much work put into the index as due even such a short tome however. Dr. Gundry uses acronyms freely and for example, ATP is not defined at any point that I could find, including the indexed pages. It is just referred to and the reader can only look it up elsewhere if not knowing.Paradox? There is maybe no apparent paradox (why the title?) and, I daresay buying this book is best reserved for the fan of Dr. Gundry videos who wishes to support him and have a convenient up to date bit of a treatise. I’m happy with it, even if it is slightly paradoxical. The model of gut-brain axis interaction talked of is reminiscent to me of Heribert Watzke (see his 2010 TED Talk) and the Subsumption Architecture / layered control system. I like that way of thinking about the gut and gut-brain axis.Béchamp was a contemporary of Pasteur’s, who advocated the benefits of the microbial life, distinct from Pasteur’s more heavy handed germ theory of disease.

Very detailed. If you have any medical background you will appreciate this. Might be a bit more difficult for others with out understanding of A&P . Makes total sense! Highly recommended. I sent this referral to my Doctor to read.
