BEAUTIFUL!
I love The Healing Garden -Cultivating and Handcrafting Herbal Remedies by Juliet Blankespoor on so many levels. Visually it is stunning. It has beautiful pictures and colors and I appreciated seeing a variety of faces and ages throughout the book– all lovers of plants. The table of contents is easy to navigate starting with the foundations of gardening and moving from there. It’s well organized. Some books are jammed with good information but can be so hard to wade through and understand clearly. There are wonderful charts and helpful step by step guides (along with pictures). My other favorite is the herb profile section filled with stunning pictures and information.I love that this book is large enough so you can see everything clearly without small print (that’s always an issue for me). So it’s a joy to read on many levels. The online bonuses that come with the book are amazing and useful. So good that I pre-ordered the book for my sister to enjoy with me as we both waited for our books to arrive. The icing on the cake was when my 19 year old son came home for a visit from college. When he saw the book on my desk, he grabbed it and eagerly looked through it with a big grin on his face. He said he couldn’t wait to come back and try some of the recipes. — You know that’s got to be a special book! ;)I hope you can get this and add it to your collection of favorites. It will make you happy and gently take your hand on your own botanical journey.

Just the beginning…
If you’re anything like me, this book will be just the beginning of a love affair with herbal healing. It’s a beautiful book that points to the authors beautiful soul! She is both a natural herbalist and a natural teacher…showing the connection between the calling to healing/growing in the garden and healing/growing of the human person. The book (and the online resources that come with it) have inspired me to enroll in the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine – something I couldn’t have seen coming. Can’t recommend this enough. Make sure to take full advantage of all the wonderful online resources.

Treasure trove necessity
I come from 3 generations of farmers, 2 hippie parents, and good old fashioned dirt loving genes. This book is the new holy grail for me in regards to gardening and herbs. I have gotten so many good books on organic and holistic gardening, natural remedies and recipes, and plant identification. I’ve often wondered why no one thought to put all of those topics in one useful book. Well someone finally did. Beautiful pictures, straightforward practical information, and just an all around awesome book. I found this book when I recently stumbled across an article about elderberries from the Chestnut School of Herbs, which is founded by Juliet Blankespoor. I follow her on IG now, subscribe to their email list and will champion her work for the rest of my days most likely lol so happy I found her and her book! Buy it!

Worth the small cost!
The Healing Garden literally arrived the day I needed it. I have studied herbalism on my own, in my own way for several years, then I got a little distracted with life. This book anchored me back to all I love.1. It’s gorgeous. The photographs will keep you reaching for it again and again. They will inspire you to make new recipes and try new plantings in your garden.2. It’s a heavy tome, packed with an incredible wealth of knowledge! This is not a flimsy paperback which means it is going to stand up well to lots of use and time. (Mine will be herbal tea stained before long!)3. The organization of the book allows anyone at any stage of their land loving, gardening, and herbalism process to access it and find helpful information.4. It comes with digital access to more information. This book is worth it! It is one of the very best book purchases I have made in years.

Beautiful, informative book packed with informative instructions on how to grow herbs and how to use them. The digital portal access to more information is wonderful. This book is a really good book and a great addition to an herbalist’s library.

If I could give it TEN stars, I would .
Juliet Blankespoor has written a glorious herbal gardening book of such breadth it’s almost unbelievable. Not only are the photographs superb, but her writing is easy to follow, full of knowledge she gained from YEARS worth of hard earned herbal gardening wisdom, and at times charmingly funny !As I turn the pages and read about soil maintenance, designing your herbal medicine garden, herbs and their actions on the body, delicious unique herbal recipes .. and so much more.. I feel as if I’m benefitting from an herbal encyclopedia that I’m just so GRATEFUL to have. This book is an invaluable resource if you want to grow your own herbal medicinal garden – or learn in detail about herbs, or make yummy recipes – and you can be a total beginner OR an expert gardener and still glean so much information here.(Her charts are meticulous and SO helpful. They can only come from someone who truly LOVES to observe plants and who is compassionately willing to share all that she has studied for the reader’s benefit). If there could only be ONE herbal medicine / gardening book I could hold onto, without a doubt it’s THIS ONE. I’ll be referring to it forever.Crack it open, & you’ll be *Amazed*

I like all the pictures, the lists, the step by steps, the how to grow and how to use guidance, herb Information and recipes for each herb. It is an all on one book on everything to do with herbs. It’s a good starting place for an herbal novice but will will forever be an excellent resource and go-to book. I love perusing the real pages of this hard cover book rather than having to search the internet for all that is in this beautiful resource. Thank-you Juliet Blankespoor for this gift, this piece of you!
