    This Good Doctor’s Personal Story of Triumph Over Tragedy is Reason Enough to Get This Book!
    Wow…So much to say. Dr. Somerville’s writing is so clear, it’s like he is sitting with you telling you a story. He patiently goes through every factor that contributes to Vitamin D deficiency. He explains why current recommended doses are miscalculated. His work is well documented and sited.Two years ago, I was shocked when my blood test indicated a severe D deficiency. I did my own limited research and contemplation and came to the realization that our culture–due to our damaging the ozone layer of atmosphere–is avoiding sunlight, our primary source of Vitamin D. And when we lack Vitamin D, it affects every organ, action and function. Dr. Somerville goes into the detail!My dosage increase was slow and took nearly two years to come back to normal. As it did, my mind became sharper and my immune system strengthened. My hair stopped falling out and my nails grew strong again.I want to hear more how he overcomes his unique story of so much misfortune which he has turned into blessings of beautiful service to patients…and, now, to the world. I look forward to his future books. Is devoted to contributing, discovering effective solutions to improve living a healthy life. This book was authored by one that tested, top ten, in the nation!The love of my life, nearly died two years into our five year relationship.     Now THIS is what the public should know about vitamin D
    I’ve been studying natural medicine and nutrition for over 25 years, after getting cancer at 21. I’ve read a LOT of books, studies, articles, etc on many subjects. I’ve read four other books on vitamin D, and this one is the best, hands down. One of them was a more standard medical view on the subject, so it wasn’t all that great, but it did mention some studies suggesting up to 10,000 IU’s per day could be taken safely, indefinitely.One book, by Jeff Bowles, was very informative, but wasn’t written very well, and left some questions unanswered. THIS book, although not perfect, addresses vitamin D information in a way few others, if any, have. Here are some of the highlights of this book:* How and why researchers came up with the ridiculously low RDA for vitamin D, and why it is completely and utterly wrong.* How researchers came up with the current blood level ranges considered “safe” and again why those are very wrong, and keeping us from achieving optimal health.* Why vitamin D, itself, is not actually the problem if you take high doses. Calcium is.* How much you should take, to get to an optimal range in your blood levels of vitamin D.* A detailed explanation of how and why low vitamin D levels effect your sleep, energy levels, mood, immune system, and metabolism. Are you hungry all the time, even after you’ve eaten a full meal? Are you gaining weight, and can’t seem to keep it off? He tells you why.* The stories of not only the doctor himself, but also of his patients, and how they responded to optimal dose therapy.Now, as I said, this book isn’t perfect. He leaves out a couple of important pieces of information, which I believe could cause people to have a negative experience while taking the doses he recommends. He doesn’t talk about vitamin K’s role in making sure calcium levels stay normal while you are taking vitamin D. He also doesn’t talk much about magnesium’s role in proper vitamin D supplementation.However, this book is exactly the type of information the general public SHOULD be hearing about vitamin D, instead of the laughable misinformation that has been forced upon the population for decades. If you are interested in health, nutrition, etc. and/or you are having any health problems that you’re having trouble figuring out, buy this book immediately. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I, for one, suffer from severe fatigue, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, persistent hunger, and some other issues and I will be implementing this therapy immediately.

    This book was recommended by our chiropractor. It is very informative. I have checked out online several of the things said that I was unfamiliar with and found confirmation on legitimate websites. Welcome anything that can help with energy, immunity and better sleep so thought I would try a higher IU of D3 as I am indoors quite a lot in winter.

    Who knew that everybody is living with Winter Syndrome, and the paltry RDA of D3 offers no way out of this condition! Dr Somerville explains what all this means in a very simple and approachable way, and offers good advice on what we should all be doing to resolve the seemingly unresolvable issues that most of us suffer on a daily basis.Buy this book – it will change your life!

    This book has so much information about why Vitamin D is so important to our body. I did not realize how much our body depends on having the correct levels in order to help with healing, cancer, even sleep apnea and restless legs.. so much more!!I HIGHLY recommend getting a copy of this book to read, and investigate for yourself.We are responsible for making sure our health is the best we can make it. I have taken much higher doses of Vitamin D than the RDA and I have to admit, I do feel much better. I have a deficiency at the best of times and I cannot help but wonder if it had to do with me getting cancer as my levels were low for probably decades.
