Berberine extract in pill form
A long time ago I wanted to add berberine to my supplement regimen to lower my glucose level and help with cravings.I made the mistake of buying berberine powder, just thinking I’d add it to a drink…little did I know how bitter it was. It was SOOOO BITTER, that no matter what drink I added it to, it would overpower the drink and make it taste horrible.Needless to say I didnt use it after a few days.I decided to give berberine a try again, but this time in a pill so I didnt have to deal with the super bitterness.The dosage is 2 pills, I am starting with 1 pill for now to see how it does and then will increase after a few days.Seems fine, as with all supplements you have to take for a while to know if it works for you. Fingers crossed.Bottle was fancy, no broken pills, pills are medium sized and easy to swallow.I like the clear labeling of ingredients and strength of the ingredients. They not only show the effective mg of the ingredient but the ratio of the extract (for 2 pills)Berberine HCL 20:1 goldthread root extract 400mgCeylon cinnamon bark 10:1 extract 300mgBitter melon 10:1 300mgGinkgo Biloba leaf 10:1 300mgHowever the front label says 17000mg/serving which is a bit misleading and really doesnt need to be displayed, and is the equivalent if the extracts were not concentrated.For comparison the best selling berberine on amazon has 450mg of berberine hclAnother brand says it has 1200mg of berberine hcl but does not show the strength, on their product page it says 8% yield…so 96mg? Not sure…sort of confusing marketing.This brand says 20:1 extract equivalent of 8000mg yielding 400mg of berberine hcl…their labeling is clear.When ordering a supplement I also like to look at reviews of other supplements that the same company offers. This company AJS has products all above 4 stars (4.1-4.6)

I’ve been using this supplement for the three weeks and would like to share my thoughts so far–I appreciate that this company is based in the USA and that they allow third-party lab testing for quality and safety.–The pills are large, but fairly easy to swallow, don’t have an unpleasant odor or aftertaste and I like that they’re made from simple ingredients and are vegan.—All Ingredients (only four) are clearly listed and easy to research before making a decision to purchase.–I have a very sensitive stomach and haven’t experienced any issues or other negative side effects from these pills.– I haven’t yet noticed any physical changes, but it’s only been three weeks so I’m still open to seeing what happens with continued use.—There is a 45 day supply in each bottle–Price is pretty fair compared to other supplements I take, so I’m planning to wait to see how I’m feeling once I finish this bottle before deciding whether or not to continue, but I do remain hopeful about its potential.
