Individuation.
Anyone who is a yoga teacher, or who has questions to your teachers about how to take care of your personal needs, will most likely get your questions answered by this book. It is beautiful, and grounded in tradition. I have over 40 books on yoga, and it wasn’t until I read this one that I had my questions and the info to really improve my individual practice and avoid unbalanced prana that I had been experiencing from the way I had been doing hatha yoga according to the format my teachers gave me – the class format. The thing that separates this book in such a great way, is that it brings the valuable info to the practitioner in how to create the proper approach to asana, as opposed to the class format. It teaches yoga in the traditional personal way. Specifically it is a dosha type approach, I think better than the authors yoga therapy book. This book is such a great reference and gift to the too often confused yoga practitioner.

Amazing Book, Getting Back to the Roots of Yoga
Ayurveda Yoga Therapy is a must read for anyone who is interested in truly understanding the actual roots of the increasingly modernized Western fitness practice that is called “yoga”. This book goes back to fundamentals, and it can be life-changing for those seeking the true heart behind ancient yoga and Ayurvedic ideas.

I enjoyed reading Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy
I enjoyed reading Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy. Very informative and to the point. It is an excellent introduction to the connection of Ayurveda and Yoga. I bought the kindle edition but should have bought the book to keep it as reference cause there are many useful Ayurvedic instructions and yoga postures to follow.

Important reference book for yoga teachers and students; needs to be thoroughly edited and reissued
If I was rating this book purely on the vast amount of information available in it I would give it a 5+. There is so much information in this book, reading it once is not enough. It is invaluable as a reference and should be in every yoga teacher’s library. The problems with the book (and why I gave it a 4) are all of an editorial nature. There are times when phrases and whole sentences are repeated. There are instances when a passage will refer to an illustration that isn’t in the book. And there are certainly passages that could be more thoroughly explained. In my opinion, the book should be 50-100% longer than it is. Sadly, Mukunda Stiles has passed away so I doubt that these changes will ever happen. I do hope that one of his students will serve his memory by thoroughly editing and re-publishing this valuable book.

It is a wonderful book for some I am sure but for my needs it fell very short…I am very grateful for any information that comes my way in regards to my understanding – study and practice of Ayurveda Therapy in regards to my teachings in Yoga and Holistic Healing. Many thanks and with much gratitude to Mukunda Stiles for he left behind.

Ayurveda by Mukunda Stiles
This is a great book on Ayurbeda…it is concisely written, and you don’t have to be a Dr. to understand. The data is well arranged and illustrations are good. I am really pleased with it.

This book thoroughly explains ayurvedic concepts and provides exercises for different dosha dominances. I will keep this book to hand for a long time.I almost gave a 4 instead of 5 because it doesn’t appear to have been edited properly and has a few mistakes – eg entire paragraph repeated at least once that I can remember, and sometimes was difficult to understand because it seemed to have been written as the author thought it out, then not reviewed to see how it sounded. In these instances I had to re-read it several time to get it(!)All said and done, I highly recommend this book to anyone who is exploring ayurveda or yoga therapy.

I found the books of Mukunda Stiles some years ago, and they have greatly informed my teaching and practice of Yoga. This book on Ayurvedic Yoga therapy is full of knowledge and is also very practical and easy to use. Mukunda offers a clear understanding of the doshas and how Yoga practice can support and bring balance to the different dosha types. This teachers background of depth and wisdom shines through. Highly recommend to any teacher or practitioner who would like a good understanding of Yoga and Ayurveda and how to bring them together.

What a great book, I teach Classical Hatha Yoga and as such also have an interest in Ayurveda, simply because when I did my training in India they also had an Ayurvedic Doctor and Clinic within the Ashram grounds. This book is not only explaining the very deep subject matter of Yoga with ease but also Ayurveda as well. Mukunda Stiles, definately knows his stuff. The asanas for specific doshas is brilliant and I have already incorporated a couple of the series into my class, because they have a good flow to them….Brilliant book.
