How Did We Get Our Start?
Back in the mid-1990s, our founder Bill Whyte worked as a carpenter. He worked hard, and so did his hands. They would often split and crack in the frigid New England winters. One night, seeking a soothing solution, he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil to create a simple herbal balm. It helped his hands so much, he decided to share it with everyone he knew – and the rest, as they say, is Badger history.

Amazing Product!
Great spf that is thick and protective without being greasy! It gives great protection and it actually cleared up spots and darkness on my face! Definitely recommend this product!

Great Overall
Excellent ingredients that are safe, really pleased. But be prepared, it’s greasy. Super shiny and feels heavy. But it’s either that, or the toxic chemicals in the other brands. I go with this. Would be vastly better with daily use if you wear makeup if it dried down. At the pool? No make up? Hiking? Great product. Just a little lighter feeling – has a vaseline type consistency – would be great.

Reliable natural sunscreen
This has been my go-to sunscreen for many years now. It’s all natural, almost all organic and it’s free of all the scary nasties you’ll find in chemical sunscreens. I’ve found it effective (I don’t burn when I sit out in the sun after applying this) and it doesn’t irritate my skin.The only downside (and the reason I’ve given it four stars instead of five) is that it’s very thick/oily, so it doesn’t spread as easily on the skin as chemical-laden sunscreens. But four stars is still a good rating in my book, and I’d gladly trade a little more effort to apply this for all the harmful ingredients in other types of sunscreens any day.Pros:All natural and almost all organic.Free of harmful, scary ingredients.Effective 30spf protection.Pleasant, very light natural scent.Gentle on sensitive skin (at least on mine).Cons:Very thick/oily and doesn’t spread as easily as chemical sunscreens.Bottom line: It’s totally worth working a little harder to apply this than risking my health with quick and easy chemical alternatives. I’ll keep buying this product and I totally recommend it.

Crunchy Florida mom approved
As long as badger still sells this sunscreen- this will be the only one I buy. I am picky about every ingredient that goes on mine and my family’s skin and badger meets my standards completely. I’ve tried a few other brands that have clean ingredients and are mineral based and even after rubbing it REALLY into the skin, it still leaves you looking like a ghost. We spend hours on end at the beach and badger not only works but it rubs into the skin just fine, as seen in the video. The smell I don’t mind. It doesn’t have much smell. No complaints about the stick either. It’s convenient and rubs in fine. The stick does leave your face feeling kind of sticky and oily but I don’t think it would work if it didn’t. It’s pricey compared to the common brands but no doubt worth the money to not be spraying disease causing chemicals regularly on my kids, just to prevent a sunburn. My one son who had eczema when he was younger seems to have sensitive skin and he’s done totally fine with it.It’s a yes for me. -a Florida mom with two kids who love outside time

Great, non-toxic sunblock that works great. It’s very thick and not the easiest to spread but I’ll take that over toxins on my skin any day! Highly recommend.

The product seems to work well enough to protect against sunburn. However this product is very thick and takes a decent amount and effort to rub in. Will leave a slight white residue. Will not buy a second time.

Best suncream for pregnancy. So few ingredients and all super safe, I’m so pleased to have found their products! There is nothing comparable on the market (and I’ve spent a long time searching!). It’s a very thick sunscreen and not like anything I have used before (new convert to mineral) but it lasts really well on my skin and makes me feel really moisturised and protected. It’s obviously not as easily “absorbed” or less greasy than some of the cheaper chemical sunscreen brands but I am happy about that because it’s such a good product and has nothing nasty in it.I wish more Badger products were available on Amazon including their belly butter and SPF 50.Thank you for making products I enjoy and feel safe using!
