I’ve been using this for close to a month now and I really like it. I like trying out natural products, and there is often a chance something natural won’t cut it, but this toothpaste is fantastic. Tea tree is already a favorite of mine; it’s a miracle plant that’s antibacterial, antifungal, and I think even antiviral. I had never used anything with Neem but I was aware it’s a disinfectant and anti-inflammatory herb popular in Ayurvedic medicine and dental care. I’ve also been trying to avoid overexposure to fluoride, because I learned and believe it’s poisonous and mostly unnecessary. (But hey, our water is spiked with it, and there’s not much I can do about that unfortunately.)This toothpaste is almost completely natural, and although sodium laurel sulfate free, has an ingredient close to it. That’s not enough for me to discount the positives of this product, though. This toothpaste cleans well and leaves plaque away for half the day. A pea size amount is only necessary because of how well it lathers. It also tastes good, slightly herbal & medicinal, but fairly minty. The flavor doesn’t linger too long, unlike commercial toothpastes loaded with sweetener. You can brush your teeth and soon go drink your morning coffee if you wish, since the tea tree & neem toothpaste doesn’t interfere with taste buds (which I absolutely hate when it does.) I will note that my teeth have gotten sensitive and I swish with enamel restoring fluoride mouthwash every few days because it does help. It sucks I can’t completely eliminate fluoride but I can cut back on how much I come into contact with. I also have a sensitive stomach and commercial toothpaste can make me nauseous, but I haven’t had that problem since using this.If you find you don’t like this toothpaste, Desert Essence has several varieties to choose from to fit your preferences and needs. I paid $6.59 for a 7 oz tube, which is reasonable because it will last you; my local health food store charges $9 for it. I really like this stuff, and it’s worth a try as long as you mind your acid intake and possibly separate enamel care.

I won’t tell you how many years it took for me to figure out that toothpaste was toxic to me and not nice to my teeth. I went through all the steps –don’t need the fluoride, want natural (no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, no ingredients added for flavoring that were also toxic). I found the “natural” label didn’t do it for me anymore when manufacturer added sorbitol or xylitol for flavoring. Teeth and gums age and I don’t need anything contributing to that.I dropped out mouthwash first and would just brush tongue and roof of my mouth to remove odor causing bacteria. But I was still using toothpaste even though it was fluoride-free and “natural”.When I found Desert Essence Natural Tea Tree Oil and Neem Toothpaste, I finally found the key to really taking care of my teeth and gums. The taste took some adjustment for me. I now brush tongue and roof of my mouth with just water before I put the toothpaste on my brush. Soft circular motion and within a few days I already noticed healing in the gums. After continuing for a few weeks, I noticed occasional particles dropping off the teeth and thought it was pieces of my teeth! But it was actual tartar and plaque deposits being released by the well oiled and now healthier teeth. I have been using it for two years now and much of the damage caused by previous toothcare has actually reversed. Good toothcare treats the teeth and treats the gums.One drawback is there is no travel size available – anyway on Amazon. I recently tried another toothpaste with like ingredients for travel but found it did not stand up to the “nice to my teeth” test. So I simply got one of those really little travel pots (about lip gloss size) that holds about half an ounce and simply filled it for travel. Thank you Desert Essence! Win – Win – Win & Travel!

My New Go-To
I am super picky about my oral hygiene and overall health. I appreciate how healthy and effective this paste is. It tastes good too. My mouth feels super clean after brushes and even when I wake up the next day, my teeth and whole mouth still feel clean. Some pastes do not make my mouth feel fresh over night and into the next morning, but this stuff is very effective. My teeth do look a bit whiter too. I already have super white teeth so not much more a paste can do for me. I purchased to maintain whiteness and have a fresh mouth. This worked extremely well. I will no longer use other pastes…and also buying another for my kiddos. Worth the money. A little goes a long way. It feels so good on my teeth.

This toothpaste is awesome. It’s foamy and leaves my mouth feeling very clean. A little goes a long way. I like the mild taste. My mouth can’t stand regular toothpaste now. It irritates my gums. One star off for having glycerine. I read it’s bad because it prevents saliva from bathing the teeth. I also don’t think it would work that great by itself. I use it with a couple drops of oregano oil on my toothbrush, and I swish with Listerine and Biotene, plus flossing. Nonetheless, I have really bad gum disease and this combo has shrunk the inflammation and makes my gums pink.
