I’ve officially found the holy grail of sunscreens. Not only is it reef-safe and packed with minerals, but it’s like a superhero for your skin—long-lasting, tough against water, and perfect for kids, athletes, or anyone who’s ever been betrayed by lesser sunscreens. Bonus: Endorsement from Kelly Slater is basically a seal of approval from Poseidon himself. The packaging is so cool that I almost feel guilty tossing it in my beach bag. If you’re not using Freaks of Nature, you’re probably just getting crispy and sad. 10/10 would buy again (and again and again).

Great new find!
We spend a ton of time at the beach-surfing and playing beach volleyball. We have not burned with this sunscreen. It has the ever so faint white tint, but it’s very faint. It doesn’t feel thick on and is easy to carry with me and easy to find in my big beach bag because it’s orange. Also, no noticeable scent.Thankful to have found this brand!

was on the hunt for a non toxic sunscreen that also wouldn’t clog my pores. My face is very prone to breaking out especially with sunscreen. This goes on smooth, is not heavy and does not leave a white cast at least on my olive skin.

This is hands-down one of the best sunscreens I’ve ever used! As my wife and sister’s in law will say…I love sunscreen! It’s incredibly easy to apply and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy, which is a must for me as I used it while I am doing some outdoor activity (surfing, bike, sunning, etc). The bottle design is fantastic—compact and travel-friendly (see the picture in Miami Beach!). I can slip it into my pocket or backpack, making it perfect for on-the-go use.I also love that it’s a 100% mineral sunscreen. I recently heard on a podcast that mineral sunscreens are a must because they sit on the skin and reflect UV rays instead of absorbing them, which is gentler on the skin and less likely to cause irritation. Did not know that! It’s also safer for the environment since it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals that can damage marine life. Knowing this makes me feel even better about using it.I wore it for an entire day outdoors a few times, and it kept me protected—no sunburn at all!It’s clear that a lot of thought went into designing this product to be both effective and World friendly if I can say it that way. A big thank you to those that created this incredible sunscreen. Well done!

Stays on in water
Small bottle but this stuff really stays on. If you use a lot it’s not clear and if you’re pretty tan it’ll turn you purple lol.

Blue surface cast
Bought because it claimed no white cast. Kind of false. Massive blueish cast (like a smurf) last all day and must scrub with dawn 5 times to remove. Does not irritate eyes. Looking for something for my face that does not irritate eyes or leave the ghost look, this is no better than other mineral products out there and 3x more expensive. False marketing hype.

Best all round sunscreen for surfing and water sports
I love this stuff. It is light on my skin but doesn’t irritate my skin or come off while surfing. I surf a lot and need a very high quality sun protection and this one does the job, doesn’t have a crazy smell and doesn’t clog my pores like others do. It does have a white-ish cast at first but then it blends in. Feels very hydrating as well. I’d say it’s worth the price and a little goes a long way.

Not worth the price
This product is not worth the inflated price. I bought this to wear surfing where I spend 2-3 hours in the water at a time. This sunscreen is sticky (pro: it does help your stomach stick to the board when paddling) but it doesn’t hang on like other less expansive brands. One paddle out and it’s all washed off! Not comfortable enough to wear on a normal beach day but not performant enough to wear for water sports.
