Easy to Read, Easy to Understand
I simply LOVE a resource book that I can read from front to back, and then keep and use as a reference book as needed. This book is one of those for me! I love books about herbs and plants and all of their uses – but at times, the books are too technical. This one is perfect. It is organized in the perfect format, allowing for a quick reference. But the best part is the way in which it is written. The chapters are organized in easy to follow format, and it is written in such a down to earth manner – I understand everything! The 25 herbs listed are of the utmost importance, and I cannot wait to try my hand at some of them that I have been afraid to attempt in the past. The recipes are a bonus – and the color guide that goes along with it just makes it the perfect guide.

tells you everything you need to know about these 25 medicinal plants
Grow Your Own Herbal Pharmacy is a fantastic book for someone looking to learn all about plants you can personally grow to use as medicine for yourself and family. The book goes into detail on each of the 25 herbs…telling you how to plant them from seed or propagate from cuttings, it tells you the benefits of each plant, how to harvest it and how to store it. It also tells you the best ways to use the plant, whether that be by making an infused oil, tincture, salve, etc. The book also gives warnings if certain people shouldn’t use it or there are contraindications or if certain ways of using something could cause complications. The last chapter includes 17 different recipes that you can make with the herbs listed in the book. Overall, this is a wonderful reference book and I learned so much. I am excited to expand my garden to include many of these herbs and plants so I can use them on myself and family.

A wealth of information!
One of the best books I have read so far on learning to grow and use herbs to start making your own herbal medicine cabinet. It is well written and full of lots of tried and true information. I love growing my own herbs, I just have always had trouble knowing what to do with them after that. I love that the author takes you from the beginning process on how to grow the plant, all the way through until the end process on what they are for and how to use them. I love that she gives you advice on who should use certain herbs or who should not (I learned some things about dill that I never knew) If you are thinking about purchasing this book, do it! A great source of information to have at your fingertips.

Great Guide For Beginners
Author Jenni Rempel provides all the information you need to grow and use 25 herbs to create your own herbal pharmacy. She learned from personal experience how effective herbs can be to heal some health issues. One thing I loved about this book, is that she doesn’t advocate throwing away all your medications, because she isn’t a doctor. Some people need prescription medicines and always will; however, there are some illnesses that most likely everyone can safely use herbal medicine to help with. Some of the more common herbs the author discusses are basil, cinnamon (it can lower blood pressure and cholesterol among other things!), and witch hazel. A few recipes are included in the book to get you started—my favorite is a tie between the Bath Salts and the Hibiscus Tea.

An Invaluable Resource for Every Household
I absolutely love this book! It has an enormous amount of information on herbs, how to use them as remedies, how to grow them, even recipes using them for food/drinks! I learned that several of the herbs I’ve been growing, even weeds in my yard, can be medicine! I am super excited to add more of these herbs to my garden and start trying out these remedies and recipes. The only thing that I can think of that would make this book better would be photos of the herbs in each chapter to help me with identification. Otherwise, I love it and am super glad that I have it at my disposal. Thanks again to the amazing author for another spectacular book!

A Very Organic Book!
Grow Your Own Herbal Pharmacy: 5 Simple Steps to Grow, Harvest, and Store 25 More Medicinal Plants to Craft Your Own Natural Remedies is the natural and organic book I have ever read. The section where the author explained the history of using herbs as medicine is a very interesting one. I love how the book explains each herb, how long to store the herbs, where the herb is originated and how long it takes to grow. I highly recommend this book as a great book as a gift a gardener you know.

Enjoying how well rounded the book is
Loving the history and the presentation of positive and negative parts of herbal medicine. Also highlighting western medicine coming around and recognizing the benefits of herbal medicine. I truly enjoy learning about being more self sufficient in so many ways. Herbal remedies and gardening can be so therapeutic but I’d like it to result in something productive. So I’m glad to have found several books including this one that are helping to educate me on being healthier the natural way, instead of defaulting to pills and such that have more side effects than what they are treating in the first place. I just love knowing the how and why behind things that work, and this book is definitely adding to my herbal knowledge base.

GREAT book to add to your herbal library!
This book has been a great help in gaining a better understanding in herbal remedies. I’m a firm believer in natural remedies, but still have a lot of knowledge to gain. This book is easy to read, offers very helpful information, and great remedies to help anyone you know. I promise there will be something you AND a loved one can benefit from. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge Jenni! Forever grateful! Bless you and yours! 🙏❤️

If I’m in acute pain I pop a pill. No hesitation. But if I’m looking to preserve my longer term health or discover methods of healing provided by mother nature I would rather explore the herbal remedies explained so well in this book than automatically get in my car and drive to the pharmacy. After all, where does big pharma get its ideas from ? Why are pharma companies rushing to take out patents on plant substances. I don’t exactly have green fingers, but with the help of this book I’m pretty sure I can grow and store my own herbal remedies. Jenni Rempel does it again!
