Truly Transformative Book
Full disclosure — I worked with Dr. Nandi and his wife Kali to adapt this book into a podcast. But before that, I had to read the book and decide if it was something I wanted to work on. I couldn’t possibly have predicted how quickly, and radically, this book would change the way I eat and live.As I was reading, I realized the seemingly insignificant food decisions I was making every day could be sending me on a path towards a devastating brain health outcome and could be making my current existence less amazing than it has the potential to be.Before I even finished reading, I committed to changing my diet. And truthfully, it was easy. Easier than I thought it would be, anyway. And as a bonus, I almost immediately felt better, and had more energy. Most importantly, I knew I was doing what I could do to preserve my brain so future me and future my family can have the best chances at a good quality of life.Unfortunately, my father has Parkinson’s disease. So I know first hand what it’s like to watch someone go from radiantly healthy to truly quite sick in a matter of months. It’s heartbreaking. And I don’t want my own wife and kids to ever have to experience that. This book gave me some phenomenal tools to feel like I’m not a potential victim of time helplessly facing a potentially ugly future. Instead, I can take control now and fight against a disease that will never get the chance to destroy my life. Turns out, knowledge really is power.Anyway, I called Dr. Nandi when I finished the book and we decided to adapt his work to bring this message to as wide an audience as we could across multiple forms of media.Throughout the course of doing this, a number of crew members we worked with have told me they have had similar experiences of receiving this message as a wake-up call and being immediately compelled into action. I’ve never really experienced something like this before that clicks with so many people so quickly.I really believe if you go into this book with a willingness to learn, you will change your life.Beyond that, the book is incredibly well written. Dr. Nandi writes in a voice that’s compassionate, insightful, and also approachable.Genuinely cannot recommend more. My life is better because this book exists.

My gut is an on going problem and I wanted to help myself to get some control over it.
I have found that books from Mayo Clinic have helped me in learning what causes my health problems, ways I can deal with them and questions I can use when I see my doctors. These books have helped me, to help myself and with more information I can share with my concerned family. It helps me feel that I’ve more control of the many changes in my health and my life. It helps me feel more empowered.

Educate Yourself
I always like to educate myself. Lately I’ve been trying things and educating myself on how to heal the gut. I’ve learned that the gut is the main component of all ailments. Keep your gut happy and the body will be happy as well. Im neutral on the information provided in this book as I continue to educate myself with multiple sources.
