Smells like men’s cologne
My hair- mid 40’s, shoulder length colored, chlorinated and sun damaged in Florida. Medium course ness except where highlights high porosity. I found it very creamy, a little goes a long way, detangling is a breeze with it. But the smell is so not like my other products it doesn’t match. Literally used my sons coast scent body wash to match it. And whoever said the scent doesn’t linger is wrong/ still smells a day later and any moisture reactivates it, like when you go to wash your hair next time. For 10 bucks for this size I’d rather get HEHH, or the honey, or even the rose hip one. But the formula is greatz

I had not considered buying a Herbal Essence product since my early 20’s. I’ve been using exclusively salon hair products because I have unruly thin naturally curly hair. I received a sample from another retailer and decided to try it. The Birch Bark Extract shampoo and conditioner has worked absolute wonders, which is the exact opposite of what I expected. It smells lovely and doesn’t make you or others wonder if you bathed in a entire bottle of cheap floral body spray and/or leaves your fellow elevator mates gasping for breath, as my prior experiences with Herbal Essence shampoos had done. I’ve been using it for a month and no funny business has occurred. I just get clean curly hair that actually behaves without the use of gels, sprays or other adhesives.

I bought this because I recently got my hair dyed AND a hair botox treatment so i really needed something that wouldn’t strip my hair of all its products. I looked through a TON of products, high end to low end and figured that this is one of the only products to actually not include sulfate in its ingredients. I’ve noticed a lot of companies advertise sulfate-free products yet still have sulfate in its ingredients. The scent is extremely strong but it’s not a bad scent. The shampoo and conditioner (i bought the duo) were both very light and it didn’t make my hair feel greasy or heavy. I would recommend it if you are looking for something that isn’t too harsh on your hair! I wouldn’t say that it deep conditions though.

I must say that our entire family has a new respect for the Herbal Essence / Proctor & Gamble company for including braille printing on this and hopefully their entire line of products.It’s a long over due right ( not privilege) for visually challenged people to have more information access on products.The braille code to distinguish the conditioner from the shampoo is a great start.Growing up with blind parents I remember putting fingernail polish dots onto containers so that they could tell what was inside. They usually had to be re applied a couple of times before the product was used up.My 5 star rating for the conditioner has not been influenced by what I’ve stated above.This Birch Bark gentle moisture conditioner stands on its’ own for that rating.Usually a couple of us have difficulties with some of the Herbal Essence products ( some ingredients cause irritation).Surprizingly this rich, creamy conditioner has a very light, non abrasive scent.The after scent seems to last quite a while so it pretty much helps lift your spirits all day.The combination of Ocean Mist, Dewy Florals and warm amber is energizing and leaves you soft, healthy looking hair.My hair is usually quite dry so it was a bonus to not have to add leave-in moisturizer once I’d conditioned my hair with the Herbal Essence Birch Bark Extract.The current price of $9.99 for the 400ml bottle is a fair market value and right now there is a 50 cent off coupon available.Usually I’d take a star off for the 1-2 month suggested shipping but that could change if this product becomes as popular as it should.I suggest you go for it!

I was really surprised with this particular conditioner from Herbal essences. While the majority of their hair products are often accompanied by a fruitier, more feminine smell, this one actually had an incredibly masculine smell to it, closer to a cologne than anything. I personally really liked the smell, but would rank it on the stronger side so keep that in mind if you or those around you are sensitive to scents. Similar to other herbal essences conditioners, this does a great job – I find my hair is left feeling soft and volumous. While the smell and quality of the conditioner itself are great, once you factor in the price, things change. At $10 per bottle, I find that this is simply too costly for what you get – you can easily find larger, cheaper bottles that will net you similar results.
