Really well written, useful guide with many different uses for Epsom salts; most of which were new to me! Loved it!
I always have bags of Epsom salts at home as I use them in warm bath with a little bit of lavender as a relaxing way to unwind and soothe muscles post work out, but as I always have the large Costco size bags , saw this book and decided it would be rather interesting to learn other ways in which these could be used for health and beauty purposes.It begins with a brief introduction; which introduces the properties of Epsom salts; and how they come into play with an average human population who are typically deficient in magnesium -one of the central properties of Epsom salts. It examines the background, typical uses, cost and also cautions for certain populations who should be careful before using these salts.Then the author goes into the uses. Ways 1-11 are garden uses -something that never even crossed my mind !! I grow a lot of fruit and vegetables in my garden and try and steer clear of fertilizer and pesticides, the latter of which can prove to be a problem as I battle the bugs to try and get to my product before they do. Now, thanks to this book I have options for fertilizing, repelling bugs, saving plants, sprucing them up and living in a hot place and trying to keep my lawn green despite pretty tough water restrictions, I was interested to learn that Epsom salts can be used to treat grass.Then Ways 12-21 are for improving health; everything from nerve function, which was something I was aware of, to sleep enhancement, cold and flu remedies, and even digestion! The author is detailed in each section with information about how the Epsom salts work; and how to use them.Steps 22-32 are ways to use Epsom salts as cosmetic beauty items for example a lip scrub – though I love the lip scrubs I buy from Lush, they are $10 a pop! This methods was a lot cheaper and just as effective; plus using essential oils allows you to make it to your own preference. There are tips for using it as a facial, hair cleansing, volumizer, for pedicures, customizing bath crystals, cellulite (way cheaper than the creams on the market) and you could combine the bath method, with a scrub made from this for more results. Potential weight loss benefits too from both bathing and drinking!Finally, in thinking of everything, the author explores using Epsom salts in craft projects around the home with simple step by step instructions.This book was well written, very useful and informative, and unlike a lot of books that I download for free, I will use this and keep it in my Kindle!!

I never would have known there were so many uses for epson salt. I’ve used it for cleaning and soaking in the tub in the past but never all the uses that are outlined in “Home Remedies”. A must read if you want to learn more about the home uses of epson salt

I was amazed at all the things that Epsom salt could be used for. I remember that my grandmother always had some in her cupboard but I never knew it had so many uses. I will keep this information close at hand so I can access it often.

This is a fantastic book that is well written (something increasingly lacking among many ebooks nowadays). I have to admit that I was really surprised at the many uses that Epsom salt has. I had no idea that it was that useful for so many things. I really look forward to being able to use it for some of the things mentioned in the book especially the lip balm recipes. It is well worth a read, there will definitely be something there that you could use.
