How to Treat Sensitive Skin Naturally
It is not an accident that people are shifting towards natural skincare. How effective is homemade skincare? Many cultures around the world have a long tradition of creating homemade skincare products, with recipes that are often handed down from generation to generation. This book is for those who have sensitive skin. But how to know if you have sensitive skin: our skin reacts a lot; appears red; stays dry; gets rashes often; our skin is prone to breakouts; prone to sunburns; you have itchy skin- as we can learn from his book that is written by an author, who is passionate about beauty and lifestyle since her early teens. – and adds: “A good skincare routine must include thorough cleansing and moisturizing. For sensitive skin, you must use a soap-free, non-drying cleanser that doesn’t strip your skin of its natural oils.”She states that: skincare is essential, especially for sensitive skin: The main rules we have to understand are: the skin sheds its cells every day; our skincare routine will save us money; different skin types have different needs; it is easier to prevent than to correct; taking time out for ourself is important; we will gain more self-confidence; taking care of our skin contributes to a healthy lifestyle; we will have younger looking skin; Her suggested skin routines can make the difference. For example, the morning skin care routine for sensitive skin: cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, eye cream, sunscreen, and lip balm; Her treatments are based on healthy ingredients and proven their effects for a long time. From natural cleansers, such as Honey and Lavender Cleanser, we can earn it all through natural toners, serums, moisturizers, and so on, with ingredients, like honey, shea butter, cucumber, bee wax, essential oils and so on. We can not only read the exact methods but also detailed accounts of the ingredients’ proven effects. It worth to try without the harmful ingredients, rather naturally like she did.

Great Resource for Anyone Interested in Natural Skin Care for Sensitive Skin
Author Kinnari Ashar has done an excellent job not only in providing easy-to-make, natural skincare products for sensitive skin, but also in explaining what sensitive skin is, what causes it, and how to determine if you have sensitive skin. Each skincare formulation includes the purpose of each ingredient, making it easy to customize formulations to your specifications.I recommend this book to anyone interested in natural skincare, as well as the other two books in this three-book series.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Awesome book, easy to make, nice results.
Woo hoo, finally a book of natural skincare recipes that suit me so well. I like the simplicity and availability of ingredients, yet they are by no me simple in standards as they are long standing in functionality and purpose. Keeping it to the basics that work, and well. The book clearly explains care for the sensitive skin. The importance of routine of the products used, along with the recipes to make them. The section on Why Homemade Natural Skincare is spot on, no harmful ingredients! Love it as we have the ability to pick and choose, and in my case, I cultivate a lot of my own products so that helps. Some ingredients are found in my kitchen, what I don’t have I can buy through reliable sources (farmer’s market or store) that I trust, and that will go with one’s own preference. This section has useful recommendation tips for usage, and storage. What to expect? The breakdown goes like this:Name of Product we’re making. A little description. Ingredient List. Instructions. How to Use. Benefits of Ingredients Used <---this section I really loved, it is quite informative on each ingredient and the property/advantage one can expect from it. Quite thorough and to the point....and here to the recipes we go! Thus far these are the ones I've tried:HONEY AND LAVENDER CLEANSER, no problem to make takes me about the same time I microwave a cup of tea. Gentle and easy to use. Smells marvelous, skin feels softer after using.ALOE VERA AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR COOLING TONERAgain, another easy recipe to make, taking very little time to prepare. Find this to be very gentle, and here too I can feel my skin feels much softer, it does actually improve the texture. Oh no worries, once it dries there is no smell detected of ACV, my skin just feels good! Note, I did try a Distilled White version for my granddaughter she likes the way her skin feels too.COCOA BUTTER AND OLIVE OIL NOURISHING MOISTURIZER slightly a bit more time involved than the previous recipes but still not a lot of effort, and a great return just the same mmmmm I love roses, and this gives off a gentle waft, as in when a breeze blows, and you can detect the lovely smell of roses. Yum! First application I could feel the taught, stinging feeling of my skin abate. Works great on my legs, and a little goes a looooooooooong way. Enjoying this, I know I made it, I know what's in it and I'm using it with confidence. NOTE don't be afraid of oil, this mixture absorbs into the skin. Again, a little goes a long way.AVOCADO OIL AND BEESWAX PROTECTING MOISTURIZERA little bit more work than the others, but minimal just the same. Double boiler is required, but I used a small pot with a stainless-steel bowl (old way of doing double boiler) just set inside with the water barely kissing the bottom exterior of the bowl. Putting this aside, I actually thought it was a bit of fun making this, watching the beeswax pellets melt rather brought out my inner child & sense of magic. Anywho, pretty straight forward. Smells nice and refreshing, I've not been using it long enough to tell what long-term effect it has but like the other recipes I've made, it feels good on my skin and that to me is all I need.RASPBERRY TINTED LIP BALM for Flush of ColorSuper easy to make using a double boiler, takes really no time and I did like the results. The raspberry does give a nice color to the lip balm. I think in the future batches I will sieve the dried, ground raspberry before adding it in. Not sure if I had exceptionally seedy raspberries or what but I did strain afterward using a nut bag. Putting that aside, I love the feel of this balm it is very soothing. I especially love that I know what's in it, there's no surprises, preservatives and/or additives (like all the other recipes) yay!ALMOND MILK, OATS AND HONEY SCRUB for dryness and inflammationAnother easy one to make and everything can be easily found in my pantry. I make my own Almond milk so that's a plus because I know it's just straight up Almond milk with no extras in it. Mixture feels and smells a bit like breakfast mmmm I make a batch and keep it in the fridge, one batch lasts me about a week as I use it on my face, neck and décolleté. My skin feels softer, soothed after usage, it's a nice scrub that works gently without causing my skin redness or irritation.CUCUMBER, YOGURT AND TURMERIC Soothing Face MaskSo simple to make and smells marvelous! Feels fabulous too. Don't worry about the turmeric staining skin, it's not detectible once it is stirred in the mix. The first time I made it I left the seeds in, I think that made it a bit too watery I used it just the same though because it felt so cooling, calming and soothing in this heat. Second time, more solid mix. Definitely seems to help with my rosacea.I've not yet ventured to the rest of the collection, slowly making my way there but for now I'm quite pleased with the regimen and products I have made and will continue to make them a part of my everyday routine.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Essential Addition to the Home Cosmetic Formulator’s Library
This excellent and concise guide to formulating cosmetics for sensitive is an excellent and necessary companion to the author’s How to heal Dry Skin Naturally. I have both dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin. By cross referencing both guides, I have been able to experiment and formulate preparations that have helped me to treat my skin condition and improve my complexion.I recommend both books. Now I am looking forward to reading the author’s other guild for oily skin.I may be able to help my sister with her skin problems.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
