I’m slowly but surely falling in love with everything that is Kate Somerville. I originally tried her ExfoliKate exfoliator and I do really like that. I liked it so much that I decided to give her face wash a try as well. First let me say it smells amazing. It smells like tea, specifically.. a mix of orange pekoe and earl grey (you can definitely smell bergamot in it). I love it. It’s a light fragrance, so if you’re sensitive to stuff like that, it shouldn’t be an issue. It smells natural, not chemically or synthetic. Anyway, this stuff comes out like a paste. It’s very different from any face wash I’ve used. It’s almost like a super concentrated paste, because you need very very little of it. Just a tiny pea-sized dot will cover my face and neck, so this stuff will last you quite a while. It isn’t terribly foaming like the name suggests, but it does get the job done and makes your skin feel clean. But the most impressive part about this face wash is how smooth and soft it makes your skin feel! I have never used a face wash that has made my skin feel like that. It truly is amazing. I know this stuff is really expensive, like a lot of Kate Somerville’s stuff, but this here is very much worth it. I like this even better than I like the exfoliator, and I really like that stuff. It’s worth the splurge. If you’re unsure, try and get a sample or just buy the travel sized version of this to test it out. You’ll love it. Would work great on both dry or oily skin – I have normal to dry skin, and it doesn’t dry me out at all.

Product works & smells fine, however has tiny clumps, which most likely indicates it on the older side and could be near expiration. I have always purchased this through Ulta or through the Kate Somerville website and this was my first time ordering it through Amazon. The product is supposed to have a smooth texture, without any tiny lumps. It seems to work fine though. I intend to keep it and not return.

I wanted to try this for a long time because I have heard such good things. I saw it was on sale so I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. When I received it and tried it, at first I thought maybe I had purchased the wrong product. It wasn’t what I was expecting. I didn’t realize that it was supposed to get foamy. I thought I might have wasted my money because it seemed way to gental and I thought I was getting something more aggressive. I kept using it anyway because I bought it. A few days later when I randomly touched my face I was taken aback when I noticed my skin was the smoothest I have ever felt it feel before. I inspected my skin on a mirror and could tell my pores on my nose that always have dark crap in them were looking smaller and cleaner. No more blackheads. I was very impressed and happy. Very happy with my purchase. The good things I heard are true.Oh and I do really enjoy the sent that it has.

This is a fantastic cleanser and exfoliator, but it is a bit pricey. If you do get it, do leave it on for at least 2 minutes for it to exfoliate or else you’re just wasting it (I put it on before I brush my teeth). I find that if I use this 1-2 times a week, I don’t have to use any stronger exfoliants, which is great for when my skin is sensitive. That said, it is really pricey for a cleanser and I’m not sure if I will replace it when it’s used up.

MADE MY EYELIDS ITCHING (EVEN WITHOUT APPLYING THERE BUT IN THE FACE) AND VERY SENSITIVE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO APPLY MY NIGHT SERUM NEITHER MY EYE SHADOW UNTIL 3 WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST AND ONLY APPLICATION.
