Let me tell you, that potency hits hard. I added a single drop to 10 mL of mouthwash, and the burn was intense – I could only swish for 1–2 seconds before spitting! But wow, the relief afterward was instant magic. True to its clove heritage, it numbs toothaches like a charm – just like I remember growing upI also drop it into my hair care routine – I dilute a few drops in shampoo or oil, then massage into my scalp. But this!!! a friend recommended after I had a dental procedure and was in a lot of pain. Anything that you by the drugstore is full of chemicals and poison. I wish I would’ve known to buy this sooner! Phenomenal for canker, sores, or any type of cuts inside your mouth or body. I just put it on a Q-tip and swabbed where my mouth was sore and had an open cut. The pain stopped immediately and it has a very nice taste. Highly recommend! This brand is excellent.

I’m using it on my teeth and skin. My experience is that this oil has a very strong smell if you use it on your skin .. might be a bad smell for some people but for others maybe is good. I have a great feeling when I used it on my toothbrush, my gums can feel the benefits of the oil.

This Does Not Smell Like Cloves!!
So, I am not sure how to review this Clove Bud oil. First, it does not smell like the spice cloves at all. It does not have even the light light floral scent, as I have since read about Clove Bud oil having. What this does smell like is lightly burnt wood. Let me say again, not any scent of the spice cloves! Prior to buying this, I just used up an old bottle of clove essential oil, which I bought at a great store, and that clove oil had an outstanding clove scent! The manufacturer is unknown. I have since read that my old oil was probably not clove bud oil, but probably clove stem or leaf oil, which usually has a spicier clove scent. I am going to have to try that, because I want the clove scent as well as the medicinal numbing quality.I did a paper test with this Clove Bud oil. 45 minutes after placing 5 drops of this oil on a piece of card stock, the oil had not evaporated, and one drip still showed the sheen of reflected light. I do not know how quickly Clove Bud essential oil is supposed to evaporate, but this did not evaporate lie my eucalyptus oil does. In fact, 24 hours later, still an oil soaked card stock, which appeared to have had almost no evaporation. These things make me highly suspicious! Now, the next thing I did was to place a couple drops, full strength, on my finger, and rub it on my gums and lips. I got a quick burning sensation, and fairly quick numbing effect on my gums. (What I did is not recommended, but I have my own ways!) From this test, I believe the strength of this Clove Bud oil to be very strong, even though the scent of it was completely unexpected and disappointing.If I had a lab, I would certainly run a spectral analysis on this, to find out for certain if it is pure. But, here is what I think: it may be pure, it may be perfect for the medicinal purposes which have been described by the seller, it does create numbing and burn on sensitive lips and gums, and I felt nothing from a full strength drop on my arm skin. However, if you want a clove spice scent for perfume, room spray, or diffuser then this is absolutely not what you want, and clove “bud” oil in general is probably not what we want. The thing is, I just don’t want to gamble with the disappointment of online purchases any more! If I can’t smell it first, then just forget it!

Taste is excellent, effect is numbing and helps very much with gum issues. would highly recommend to anyone with sore gums. It is non toxic if swallowed . Actually helpful against parasites in your gut.

Amazing product
I am having implant and the gum needs to heal, i have been putting this on my gum and its healing very fast. I use Castor oil as carrier oil and about 3 drops of CLOVES BUT and its healing very fast. I was not using carrier oil in the beginning make sure you do.
