Beautiful and full of amazing recipes and ideas
This is a wonderful book. It is a thorough, thoughtful and well organized. I am so impressed with the glossary, index and layout of the book. The recipes are great and totally useful. I am not a huge essential oil user and a lot of the recipes use them but she gives lots of ideas on making your own infused oils (Still very different than an essential oil but I still think that you can figure out how to make something without the EO…just not all the time). I really appreciate the care and generosity that was taken with this book. You will love it. I have SO many books and this one is a total keeper.

Good info for someone starting to make a more natural soap. Easy to understand.

Good Book
I have only tried a couple of the recipes, but I believe you could probably find similar recipes on-line. I’m still glad I purchased it. So far, I have only tried a couple of the recipes for scrubs. I liked those.

YES!!! This is THE book for making your own skincare!
I’m so grateful this book exists!Every thing head to toe, SOOO many easy and awesome recipes, ideas, and prompts. I learned so much I feel like I’m well equipped to make my own skin care for life! My friends love trying out everything I’m making, my kids now love taking baths, and even making products with me.My husbands beard is the best looking and feeling (no more pubey facial hair, it’s soft as a kitten, finally!!!) it has been in all our 10 years of marriage, thanks to the wonderful beard care recipes. My skin loves me. I have learned what ingredients to use and recipes to make for my skin type. This book is my new best friend. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Arrived quickly and although I purchased used, it was like new. Don’t hesitate to buy if you are just starting out.
Always Happy! –
There are way better books out there, this is too back to the roots naturopath for my taste.
Even though there are some recipes in this book, which are great they all seem to be on the naturopath old school herbal side.If you are into tinctures/herbs etc. this is the book for you!I have other books, which are way more informative and more practical for my personal more modern way of making lotions and cosmetics. It might be just my personal preference, but this is a really old school with a lot of ingredients you do not have normally on hand or ever will be willing to purchase (though I have tons of ingredients for cosmetics, salves, lotions etc. on hand). When you want to read a good book about cosmetics:” Make it Up” by Marie Rayma is great and more modern (her BLOG: “Humblebeeandme.com”)

Ok I’ve only done 3 or 4 recipes out of this book but none of them quite worked out. The mermaid face wash was ok, did the job, but did not have the vibrant pink colour in the picture. The chocolate and rose face scrub was like glue and just slid around my face (also it did not “scrub”). I’ll keep trying the recipes but I can’t help thinking the measurements are off.

I liked the pictures and easy to read recipes. I do not like that it will cost me (probably several) hundred dollars to source all the different oils, essential oils and other rare ingredients (ever heard of castor sugar? Me either) to make a few things.
