Whole Food not same as Food Based
I, a man in his mid 60’s have osteopenia, one step above osteoporosis. It’s recommended that I take calcium, eat the certain foods, and get exercise. I am doing all these things now. I am not an expert nor a dummy plant by this product, but I study my supplements carefully.This product, Alive! Calcium, is made from Whole Foods. Whole foods are said to be readily absorbable by the body. Before I purchased this product I went to my health food store to re-purchase a calcium product that says “Food Based” on the label. The knowledgeable guy explained that “Food Based” did not apply to the calcium itself, only to other additives. The calcium was actually from chalk or other mined calcium; chalk based or oyster shell based calcium is hard to absorb and mostly leaves the body as waste, it is not absorbed in the bones. So other “food based” ingredients in the product were added to enhance the absorption of the chalky calcium. But at best, the absorption is not very effective.The health food adviser explained that Whole Food products, like Alive! Calcium, come from naturally growing things. In Alive! Calcium, the calcium comes from Icelandic red algae, plus kale, spinach, and collard greens. The magnesium and D3 also come wholly from grown foods. These are good things to intake into our bodies.The adviser also pointed out that two processes happen with a good calcium product. Calcium fills the holes in bones in where it’s missing, fills in the thinning bone spaces. Secondly, the existing brittle bone is replaced with newer, stronger calcium as bone. I hope he is right! I bought from him. But online, of course, the prices are much lower so sorry, this time I bought here at Amazon.I can’t report results to my bones yet, but I can say that lately I am feeling way more energy! I feel better! Maybe I was missing vitamins D3 and Magnesium!

One of the few products that also includes D3,K2 and magnesium which aid in absorption and delivery to bones. Also does not overdose the calcium amount or D3 amount.

I have been taking Calcium Max Absorption for about four years and I am completely satisfied with the ingredients used. No fillers and it does not cause constipation like other calcium supplements. If you are looking for a good quality calcium supplement, this is a good one to buy.

I love this supplement as very quality ingredients, BUT I’ve had intense itching since taking recommended dosage. Has anyone experienced this?

Not good. Then I read where the chewable chocolate kind …
I was using the chewable choclate kind before this and I noticed I started having chest pains with those, taking the two together, at the same time. So I then seperated the dosage to one in the morning and one in the evening, when I found I was forgetting to do the second dose. Not good.Then I read where the chewable chocolate kind uses calcium from limestone, which goes straight to the arteries and can cause blockages. Big time reason to drop the chewable chocolates. Then I read that if you take the chewable kind, you raise your chances of a heart attack by 85%, with the chewable chocolates.So getting rid of all the rest, I found these. A natural alternative from vegetables, instead of eating limestone.After using this “Alive” calcium supplement, I have found that I can digest it much better. It does not sit heavy on my stomach and I have had no sensation of any troubles in the heart / pain areas.This is completely all natural and from food sources, which is major and it does make all the difference in the world, when it is easy for your body to absorb.Very glad I found it and started using this version of a calcium supplement, rather than taking a huge risk with the others. I take these tablets and throw them into my blender, that I mix my fiber drinks with, each mid morning and it is really working well.Highly recommend this. Even my husband, whom NEVER likes anything, has even started taking the Men’s version of “Alive” supplements and vitamins. I almost passed out, when he told me he was taking them. After 32 years, never being able to get him to take anything and he actually takes the men’s version of this. Now that is saying something on the biggest levels.This product works and works well.
