    A great product!
If you are lactose intolerant, no matter how bad or mild, this stuff is a blessing! I have been using it for, well I guess a couple of years now. I was skeptical because the lactase pills never worked for me. Using this I have been able to add it to heavy cream to make whipped cream, cream cheese to make cheese cake, basically any ingredient that is not a full on solid, and it neutralizes the lactose in the product. I add what I deem is an appropriate amount of the powder to the product, stir or shake and put in the fridge. I usually give 3 days or more, shaking/stirring at least once a day. I have told several other people about it and everyone has had the same results that I have had..This vendor gets the product to me on time and never an issue. I’ve been contemplating trying to make my own cheese using this, maybe someday I’ll give it a try.

This is a huge help for me! Many reviewers either don’t read directions or own a blender?
Love how easy this is t use. I make a lot of milk protein shakes and I am massively lactose intolerant. I use a double dose because I hate the bathroom trips….a little insurance is nice! It blends perfectly with cows milk but I prefer it with goat milk as it has less lactose to begin with. One noticeable side effect is that when lactase converts lactose in to other sugars (Glucose and Galactose) the milk will often be sweeter tasting to me. It is actually science, but surprised nobody mentions it. Also it does not make anything taste like the smell of motor oil like one reviewer alleges…not does it contain Bromalain or any other enzymes besides lactase. Yes there is a filler but that is minimal and is added to make dosing easy to calculate (not a conspiracy). As for folks that say it doesn’t work…I don’t think they have problems with just lactose…it could be the A1 Casein protein found in most grocery stores commercial dairy sources..try A2 milk or even better.. goat milk (less lactose and is A2 protein) A2 Casein protein is WAYYYYYYY easier to digest and also doesn’t irritate your gut lining like A1 Casein does. Try adding the correct amount of powder to A2 milk and it is smooth, sweet, sailing! I love Nutricost. The only thing I do not like? The paper and glue cover to the jars they use are too hard to open…literally every Nutricost product seems to have them..but you only remove them once.

    Does not work
In short: when I take lactase pills with dairy, I’m fine. When I take this powder (even a LOT of this powder) with dairy, I get pain, bloating…all of it.The best explanation I can pass along is that the lactase needs to actually make its way into your small intestine to work: in powder form the lactase itself is digested in your stomach; a pill takes longer to break down. I can’t fully vouch for the science behind that, but it certainly lines up with my experience. This product doesn’t work at all (for me).

It works fast. It’s a very good product.
I am lactate intolerant. If I have dairy during the day at night, I pay the price with muscle cramps and spasms in my feet and lower legs. Until it wakes me up and then I take one scoop in water and it’s almost instant this is a very, very good product. I highly recommend it

Great for powdered milk in emergency food storage!
We keep food storage for emergencies but with my husband being lactose intolerant, we needed a shelf-stable dairy solution. After trying powdered oat milk as a dairy-free option and discovering it didn’t work for my purposes at all, I found lactase! I concluded that powdered lactase would last a lot longer and be more cost-effective than the lactase drops you can get. This absolutely solved our problem! I made about 1 quart of milk using powdered milk, a half scoop of this lactase, and warm water. I let it sit in the fridge for 48 hours and used it in a recipe. My husband didn’t get sick! I would whole-heartedly recommend this for anyone building their food storage but have a family member who can’t have milk.

    Fine Product
I have a terrible time digesting dairy, so after doing some research I ordered this to help with that. Well it didn’t work for me, but it has nothing to do with the lactase powder. My understanding is that lactase breaks down dairy sugars, but the issue for me is the dairy proteins. Instead, after investing in protease (the enzyme that breaks down dairy proteins) capsules, my problem is solved. So take my review as a reflection of my own experimentation, not reflective of the products quality, good or bad. PS – I use quite a few of Nutri-Cost products and they’ve been greet.

Excellent for treating your own milk
I bought this as a cost effective way to treat my own (several gallons of milk per week). This treats 100 gallons so for $19.99 you cant beat it. Some people say it clumps in their milk, the solution is simple. Take a very small amount of warm water and mix one scoop of this in the warm water, it blends perfectly. THEN pour it into your milk and shake. Let the gallons of milk sit for at least 48 hours. Easy. No weird taste, no lactose.

    It Works. Here’s What I Did…
I was tired of paying a high premium for lactase-treated milk. This was my first time trying a powder, and I was skeptical, considering some of the other reviews, but I decided to give it a shot. Here’s what worked for me, keeping in mind that the longer you give, the more the powder works. The enzyme keeps eating the lactose. It doesn’t stop working. Nature is cool.First, I treated a gallon of milk around 4 days before my current milk was finished. That would give the enzymes plenty of time to work. I found the latest date available in the store. Then, I mixed in 2 heaping scoops in instead of just one. While I’d prefer to use just one scoop, I can live with $0.50/gallon. I mixed it with a little milk from the new bottle before pouring it in. No lumps. Finally, I shook it. I actually shook it once a day for a couple of days. Might have been unnecessary, but I felt better. Anyway, it’s worked out great! I’ve used it for several gallons, so far. The powder means it will last without spoiling.I have also started adding it to my homemade hot cocoa mix, since I use whole dry milk powder to make it. Another use is in my homemade granola. That way, I’m ready if I only have untreated milk to drink. My tummy is pleased.

Works flawlessly, cheaper to make lactose-free milk with this powder than to buy it from a store.
