Nice texture
I’m not really sure how well this protects as a sunscreen, as I’m not out in the sun that much. But I’ve used sunscreen daily for many years–usually 100 spf. Heard the tallow was the better way to go, so thought I’ve give it a try. It’s nice and creamy, goes on well, doesn’t have a smell, feels nice. I like it as a face cream, just not sure how well it works in the sun. It does have a bit of a sheen to it, which I like, and also leaves a “tiny” bit of white hue–the zinc oxide–which doesn’t’ bother me at all. I use it as a primer for makeup. It serves my purpose.

I ordered this organic beef tallow SPF 50 sunscreen because it is reef safe, and that is important to me since I live on the coast. I’d never tried tallow based sunscreens prior to this, but this stuff is amazing! I live in south Florida where the sun is super strong and you can burn easily if you aren’t careful. I wore this sunscreen for a two hour hike outside (so lots of sweating), and it protected me the entire time, without wiping off with sweat and without making my skin feel like it was coated in heavy chemicals. I’m impressed with how smooth and hydrating this sunscreen feels. In fact, I forgot that I was wearing it completely. It rubbed in easily, and it felt more like a face moisturizer than a heavy sunscreen. It also didn’t leave any white streaks on my skin, which as anyone who has ever tried to apply zinc without looking like a ghost, is hard to find with a zinc sunscreen. I also liked that it didn’t have an overpowering smell. (With a lot of sunscreen, the “coconut” scent gets into your clothes, towel, and any other fabric you touch. Even after washing, it’s hard to get that fake smell out. Not so with this though! This sunscreen didn’t have any kind of smell at all, which was a pleasant surprise.) So it works, it feels good on, and it smells good…as someone in the “Sunshine State” who has to wear sunscreen daily when outdoors, 365 days a year, trust me when I say that this is my new go-to sunscreen! I highly recommend!
