I like that it’s natural
I try to avoid pharmaceuticals and seek out natural alternatives whenever possible. Without going into detail, this year handed me a few traumatic events and I started looking for something natural to help me cope, calm down, keep a lid on my anxiety, keep my blood pressure from climbing, avoid depression, get some sleep. I found a reference online to ashwagandha aka winter cherry, highly prized in Ayurvedic herbalism for centuries, touted as one of the most powerful adaptogens. Adaptogen? I looked it up. To be classified as an adaptogen the herb or substance must be a completely safe and non-toxic botanical; must specifically reduce stress, both mental and physical; it acts as a buffer, reducing the impact that stress has upon the body. So I bought this. I’d read that this particular formulation was a good one, both in the mg provided of ashwagandha and in the quality of the company.I take one pill nightly before bed. I really do believe this has helped me calm down and cope, and I managed a calmer demeanor; the stress didn’t add to or create body problems. To help me further, I take D, B’s, and Rescue Remedy.These Ashwagandha (winter cherry) tablets each have 500 mg of the root; 70 mg of the root extract; and 59 mg of calcium; serving size is 1 tablet (but it does say that you can take 1 tablet twice daily with meals). The tablets are 3/4″ long, 1/4″ wide, and under 1/4″ thick; they are very easily swallowed and go down easily. I have not had one “hang up” yet.I hope I’ve come up with enough information for you. I can’t think of anything else to say about it. Bottom line for me is that it has helped me.

I can’t begin to tell you how very many herbal supplements I’ve tried in the past in an effort to help with my anxiety as well as my complete lack of energy. If my anxiety was helped, my exhaustion was overwhelming and vice versa.I started reading about adaptogens and while puzzled as to one herb could help with both issues, the best results were from ashwagandha and rhodiola.Assuming I was probably throwing good money after bad, I ordered Plantary Herbals’ Ashwagandha. I took one caplet in the morning and went to work. It dawned on me in the afternoon I was still happily moving about instead of being tucked in behind the wrap counter (I’m a home accessory store owner). A first. I didn’t have the usual 3:00 PM yearning for a nap… And I didn’t collapse onto my sofa when I got home either. I didn’t take another dose before bed, I didn’t need to: I slept like a rock (something that hadn’t happened in a long, long time).I take a caplet each and every morning – I can feel the weariness creep in when I don’t. My anxiety is lightly helped as well, I’m still prone to major attacks with this – but I know they aren’t quite as severe.I’m in awe plain and simple of this supplement. Wow! Went from raging, sad, hormonal mom/wife to happy mom/wife. Lifted the Covid Blues, helped with PMS/peri menopause moodiness.
