SHELF LIFE AND SUSTAINABILITY
We have samples of The Survival Tabs that were produced in 1974-75. They have been stored at room temperature. We test them periodically and have found little if any, deterioration or loss of vitamin or food value. Our results showed negligible loss in these areas. Freezing temperatures will have no effect at all on these tablets. We would estimate the shelf-life for The Survival Tabs to be 25 years, but suggest rotating them to ensure maximum food value every 2-3 years.

These are weirdly delicious to me. I’m very pleased with the flavor of them. I like that it’s re-sealable, I opened one to try it out, and snacked from it over quite a number of trips. I’m not sure when I opened them, but I’d have one or too, be good, forget about the bag in my bag for awhile, go for a hike or somewhere that food was not necessarily guaranteed and brought them with me. I finished the bag over what was probably well over a month, and the quality/condition of them was stable throughout. I’m not suggesting you do the same, but I definitely forgot them in my car several times, left them in my bag, threw stuff in with them in my bag, threw stuff on my bag, dropped my back, etc. Even so I was pleased with the last bite as I was the first, so the shelf life of even an opened and resealed bag was steady for me. They are a pleasing little bite sized snack, the texture when you pop them in your mouth reminding me of a candy I don’t think they make anymore a few bites /chews crumbles it in a pleasing way. I wish there was a mixed bag of the chocolate and the caramel, I feel like those two might go well together but I need to try the caramel next. Man these are good.Anyway, I recommend them very much!
