Very thick barrier salve, smells not great
I like that these salves are individually wrapped. It makes it easy to travel with! I with I would have had this when my daughter was in diapers! It’s not only for tattoos! It can be used as diaper cream for babies, kids and elderly people. It’s a thick barrier cream that protects skin from getting chapped. Now that it’s cold season and fall allergy season, it’s perfect for my daughter’s chapped lips and chafing under her nose from tissues. I don’t like all of the synthetic petroleum products in it, but that is what makes it such a good barrier cream! It’s very thick, like the consistency of antibiotic ointment. It does not smell good! Like Vaseline.

Tattoo Aftercare Made Easy and Mess-Free
Each packet is perfectly portioned—no more dipping into messy jars or worrying about contamination. Just tear, apply, and go.The formula is rich in Vitamins A & D, which really helped soothe my skin and speed up healing. I noticed less redness and irritation within a couple of days, and the hydration kept my ink looking vibrant. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and absorbs quickly, which is great when you’re on the move or working in a studio. As a tattoo artist, I also love having these on hand for clients. They’re hygienic, portable, and professional-looking. Whether you’re healing fresh ink or trying to minimize scarring, this is a solid addition to your aftercare arsenal.

Definitely a ointment, not a gel, and ingredients don’t add up to claims
I wasn’t able to use this product because what was advertised doesn’t line up with what I actually received. This “gel” is definitely an ointment. That might sound like a trivial, but for tattoo aftercare, the texture and ingredients make a big difference. The product page and photos give the impression that this is a specialized tattoo-healing formula with lightweight, breathable ingredients, but the ingredient list tells another story. The main base is white petroleum (petrolatum) — such an ingredient is known to trap moisture and block oxygen which is why most tattoo professionals recommend avoiding petroleum for fresh tattoos, since it is known to slow the healing process.Additionally, the fact one of the advertising photos claims “no Petroleum,” even though it’s clearly listed as one of the top ingredients, is concerning. For me, that level of inconsistency makes it impossible to trust. Because the product doesn’t match its advertising or ingredient claims, I won’t be using it and can’t recommend it to others. Thus, I can’t comment on its effectiveness or quality, but definitely isn’t a good fit for me. I do not recommend.

    Too Many Issues!
To start with, the name is a misnomer ‘Narkysus Tattoo Aftercare Cream Tattoo Scar Repair [Gel Cream’] because it can’t be both a gel & a crème, when in reality its an ointment. This formula is close to a well known vitamin a&d ointment, without the cod liver oil & signature scent & color. What I found is a white petroleum based ointment and ingredients that don’t seem suited for the intended purpose. Tattoo experts have known using petroleum jelly can hinder healing because it’s known to trap moisture and some tattoo artists have seen a connection between this type of treatment and scabbing & scarring. Contemporary tattoo balms made from lightweight, breathable, naturally sourced humectants are better for both healing and maintenance. The good:• single-use packets, great for on-the-go use.The less than good:• Ingredients: Vitamin A; Vitamin D (neither vitamin lists their sourcing, without cod liver oil found in the name brand version of this ointment, there’s no way to know where the 2 vitamins come from for sensitive groups to check for allergies;) lanolin (spelled ‘lanoiln’ on the label, is good for healing tattoos but sensitive groups can be allergic;) white petroleum (listed as ‘petrolatum’ on the label, is not though to be healthy for tattoos, see pp1;) paraffin (is known to trap bacteria, could lead to infections when used with tattoos;) fragrance (added fragrance in tattoo healing formulas might result in allergic reactions, ideally, the exact source should be listed to provide consumer transparency) *Listed by volume, per packaging.• the 3rd advertising image says “no petroleum” while it’s the 4th highest ingredient, by volume. The following statement seems to suggest the presence of 3 botanicals that aren’t listed in the ingredients: “Advanced Scar Protection – With Thyme, Hibiscus, Licorice + Vitamins A&D, this gel creates a breathable barrier that supports skin renewal. Eases temporary tightness while locking in vibrancy – art deserves lasting brilliance.” I already mentioned there being no indication where the vitamins A&D are sourced, and additionally, there’s nothing about botanicals present in this formula’s ingredient list, ie: Thyme, Hibiscus, or Licorice. The rest of the statement seems a stretch because the ingredients don’t support a breathable environment sought after by tattoo artists and the industry as a whole.I am not a healthcare provider or pharmacist, and this review is based on my observations. I sampled the ointment and don’t believe it’s a gel or creme, nor does it seem to have botanicals. That said, I believe this product is better used in different circumstances. Several ingredients are counterproductive to what tattoo artists, and the tattoo industry, believe to be practical and effective.I don’t appreciate there being discrepancies between the product name, listing details & advertising photo content & the actual product received. Correct product information is a standard practice and part of FDA requirements in over the counter medications and supplements so consumers can make the best choices for their needs.A ‘Made in China’ sticker is on the zip bag, however, E. Fougera & Co, manufactured at their Melville, NY facilities until recently. This product has no shelf life present on the zipper bag or individual use packets. The packets were originally sold in a a gross (144 packets) in 2 cartons of 72 packets per. It’s possible the lot number & shelf life were on the original box as suggested at 2 official US over the counter medication sites. The product is not currently listed in the NDC Directory (NDC # 0168-0035-45,) because it was “set to expire on April 30, 2021, and the product was discontinued by the firm.” That implies the ointment was made no sooner than 4+ years ago and might be out of date.I should have read the entire listing and checked each photo before ordering. Had I seen it was merely a generic version of a popular diaper rash ointment, and that the seller, Narkysus, has no relationship to the name on the product, Fougera, I wouldn’t have ordered. Because of the issues discussed, I’ll be disposing of the packets and can’t recommend them to other shoppers.Though the product was provided under Amazon’s Vine program, I used the item as I would any purchase, and wrote an unbiased, honest review based on my experience.

Love this ointment for tattooing. Individual sealed packet with the perfect amount for a session
Excellent. This is great to use during or after the tattooing process. I use this in place of petroleum jelly or white petroleum over stencils during the tattooing process. These are great as they make the needles glide over skin smoother with less pain. I know because I used it on myself. They are also excellent in the fact that they come in individually sealed small packets. Each packet contains more ointment than you need for medium sized tattoo. Also works for healing over fresh tattoo under bandaging. No risk of cross contamination since you are not scooping it out of a larger container. Absolutely ideal.
