There are blends that really help with stress, sleep, digestion, mood, and more. I liked the seasonal recipes and the tips on growing your own herbs. The steeping methods are straightforward but make a big difference in flavor. My favorite part of the book was the mindful rituals—it made tea time feel sacred. start of a journey
The book The Herbal Tea Cupboard gives an interesting history of tea as well as a plethora of recipes and benefits of different types of tea. For me I loved the suggested exercises which got me into trying different types of tea infusion for specific bodily reactions. I was a bit surprised at how well they preformed. My favorite part was the visual presentation and supportive dishes that can accompany your tea.

An herbalist’s tea guide
This book inspires me. Although I know it will take some time to build my cupboard up with herbs, I plan to use the advice and recipes in this book for sleep, digestion, immune-building, calming, cognitive functioning, and mood lift. Not only are those basics covered in here, but also cardiovascular health and liver support! What Bren Ashby helps me understand is that what we’ve been running to urgent care to fix can be prevented, or even (in some cases) treated, with herbal tea. It’s a whole new (and very ancient) way of thinking. Ashby states that tea brings people together, as well, so having a tea gathering or a tasting party could be a way to apply these healing principles and involve community while doing so: doubly healing. This alternative to serving alcohol could be a whole new approach to sharing time with each other. A primary point of this book seems to be “tea as meditation,” as Ashby suggests creating intention for tea time, using it to mark out a particular time of the day or evening, combining it with yoga, etc. Highly recommend this creative approach to natural healing.

Wow That’s a LOT of Tea!
Not only is there information on Tea, but also there’s so many recipes! If you can’t find a tea you like in this book, you probably don’t like tea. It’s a cozy warm book with love and affection for the herbal plight.

The book gives many recipes for herbal tea preparation. Few of the recipes mentioned in the book are tea for cleansing, for cold and for cardiovascular health. The recipes mentioned are quite detailed and easy to make. The herbs used are easy to find.
