Good for acneic/mature skin/and cold sores
Update 9/16/2021:Still repurchasing this oil because it is the best geranium oil I’ve tried; however, I bought the biggest bottle available last December and it was more sweet smelling than normal. I didn’t love it. I’m not sure if it was just that particular batch, but I went back to purchasing the smaller $18.99 bottle because the scent has historically been a bit more sultry.On a funny note, I was staying with one of my friends and she ‘borrowed’ some of this oil before bedtime. She used WAY too much and applied it directly to her face and body. The scent was so powerful that her fiance and dog didn’t want to be in the same room with her! Always dilute with a carrier oil. A little goes a long way :)———————————————————————————————————————Update 10/5/2019:I am still loving this oil. It is my HG forever. I moved overseas last year and stocked up on this geranium oil. Now that I live in Ireland, I’m subjected to far more cold/windy/rainy days. Introducing cold sores – hooray! Anyway, this stuff works wonders on them. I dilute with my Argan oil or dab a bit on a qtip before using a gentle lip balm, and it really helps minimize swelling and oozing. Cold sores didn’t really even get big enough to be noticeable! Just be sure to moisturize the EFF out of your lips after applying geranium as it has a slight drying effect. So not only has this oil completely obliterated my acne, it also keeps the cold sores in check._____________________________________Dang, y’all. This oil is boss. I put a drop or two onto a cotton ball with a bit of safflower oil each night and use it to cleanse my face. My skin has never looked better! I’ve been struggling with acne for over 20 years, so that’s really saying something. Cystic acne off an on for the last 5-6 years. This stuff seriously balances me out and keeps breakouts at bay. My scars are also (slowly) starting to fade.————–Update: February 2019I stopped using this at some point after feeling like I had my skin under control and slowly my problems returned. I am always trying new things, so I’m positive I also changed other things about my skin care routine during this time. I was using safflower oil as cleanser and ACV toner and that cleared things up somewhat, but my skin was a little dried out. I also moved to Ireland recently and the cold weather made things worse. I started using this geranium oil in December in combo with an organic argan oil and my skin is happy again. Most importantly NO MORE CYSTS. I still get little splotches of red on my face where pimples are thinking about showing up, but they go away in a day or two when I use this geranium oil with the argan. I think at 35 my acne is all hormonal, so this must balance hormones as it claims to do; however, I don’t notice any difference in my mood or anything as a result of using it. My roommate also says she likes the way this smells, so it also sort of doubles as my perfume. If it smelled like rotted fish, I’d probably still use it because I don’t have to obsess over my skin too much these days!

Slow down the signs of aging by nourishing skin tissues
I am not new to the use of essential and carrier oils, but using sea buckthorn oil was a new experience for me even though I had read about its use in nourishing the tissues in your skin and body and that it had a long history in regional folk medicines dating back thousands of years.While I already have self made oil and lotion blends that I use for facial and body skin that I am very happy with, I am always open to learning new things and improving on what’s there. So I was really curious and attracted to sea buckthorn due to its healing and rejuvenating effects on the skin and wanted to give it a try. I saw this product on Amazon and since US Organic Group wasn’t a supplier that I was familiar with I had to research first before I was willing to purchase something that I was planning to use on my skin. I realize that reviews are not meant to be about manufacturer, but the manufacturer plays a key role for me in something like essential oils. One thing that swayed me in giving this manufacturer a try is not only because the product certified organic, but also that their products are 100% cruelty free. If you do a little further searching you will find that this company seems to have wellness in their DNA with affiliations to some other interesting organizations.The oil itself has what I would call a deep amber or red orange color and viscous. It has a bit of a musky scent to it, although you can’t really smell unless you hold it up directly to your nose. It can stain your skin, especially if you fail to dilute sufficiently. However, this is temporary and washes off easily.It’s a great exfoliator, skin cleanser and good for healing the skin. There have actually been studies done which show that daily use helps slow down the signs of aging by nourishing skin tissues. What’s there not to love about that!My facial skin is extremely sensitive and I have gotten to the point that I will know almost immediately if my skin likes what I am putting on it or not. I know some people may think that I am a little nuts, but it’s true in my case. The reason I bring this up, is that when I used this product in my blend and apply it to my face, I can feel my skin reacting positively.This is a very concentrated oil, and I recommend that you use sparingly. Also make sure that you dilute with a good carrier oil. There are a number of other essential oils that are good for your skin which you can add in your blend such as carrot seed, rose hip, lavender, frankincense, geranium and others. I can’t tell you what blend works best in your particular case as everyone is unique. There are a lot of good articles that will help you get started. Whatever blend/s you come up with, I do recommend you include sea buckthorn given its ability to promote skin hydration, regeneration and elasticity, and even helps treat acne.

This smells exactly like lime. As it should! My initial smell after opening even made my mouth water with the sourness. Reminded me of those sour patch kids lol. Excellent stuff, I’ve been diffusing it too.
