  1. John J DeGuire

    Well-written and detailed.
This book is interesting in its approach because it combines detailed guides for identification, timing, location, and numerous applications of a variety of plant species. It’s nice that it’s done with a Zen of herbology viewpoint. Though the book is detailed and comprehensive, it makes for a less technical reference book by building and appreciating the necessary relationships with the world around us that sustains us.

  2. ASG

    Good resource
There’s a lot of information in this book for natural healing and self-sufficiency, and it includes a lot of illustrations to help identify plants, which we know can be hard to do in real life. Overall, a good resource but always double check information like this just to be safe.

  3. Susie S

Everything you need to know! Well done!
This book is so comprehensive on the subject; I guess I didn’t realize everything that goes into wildcrafting for herbal medicines. She had very clear and detailed drawings that would be helpful for identification. I really appreciated that the author included a section on safety in the field, as well as the fact that foraging isn’t allowed in many places. I have learned so much from this book. I absolutely love all of the quotes the author used in the book. Excellent work on this book.

This book is an excellent resource for anyone interested in home remedies and natural healing. It provides clear, step-by-step instructions on how to prepare and use a variety of remedies with ingredients that are easy to find. Whether you’re a beginner or someone with experience in holistic health, the information is practical, well-organized, and easy to follow. I especially appreciated the safety tips and explanations behind how and why each remedy works. Overall, it’s a thoughtful and empowering guide that I’ll be returning to often.

Not enough data to be reliable
I was hoping for a detailed book on remedies but found simple descriptions which lacked details. The book has an AI feel and left me in doubt of its authenticity. Reviewing the references was also a concern as they are very similar in source matter and dates. Not a book for me sadly. While AI generated books can be helpful in this niche the data should be clearly sourced for safety of the readers

  7. Alexander Hill

    Great information
This book is great for those who want to get started in foraging and wildcrafting and has a lot of useful information in and of itself and refers to helpful tools to further one’s knowledge and skills. The only drawback I’d have to point out is how the guide can somewhat forget that it’s a guide. I would not recommend carrying this as an on-the-ground guidebook to use in the moment, as it can get bogged down by quotes and purple prose.

  8. Skippy Rey

    Great Resource
As an amateur homesteader and survivalist, this book is for anyone who wants to get into herbalism and herbal foraging. So much great info on herbs, but even more info on what herbal remedies are, sustainable foraging and so much more. Great book for beginners her slists and wild crafters.

This book felt like an invitation to reconnect with the land, with tradition and with myself. Each chapter gently guided me through foraging and using wild plants in ways that felt respectful and rooted. I especially loved how it honored the wisdom behind every leaf and remedy, blending practical steps with a quiet reverence for nature. It reminded me that healing doesn’t always come from a pharmacy it often begins right outside our door in the wild and in the simple act of noticing.
