How Did We Get Our Start?
Back in the mid-1990s, our founder Bill Whyte worked as a carpenter. He worked hard, and so did his hands. They would often split and crack in the frigid New England winters. One night, seeking a soothing solution, he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil to create a simple herbal balm. It helped his hands so much, he decided to share it with everyone he knew – and the rest, as they say, is Badger history.

So worth the price. The sunscreen is very thick and a little hard to spread, but works very well. My skin is pretty sensitive and I dont get any bad reactions from this brand. I also feel more confident my pets are safe if I have to handle them after applying. Overall very happy!

UPDATE March 2025 – Warmer weather coming soon and we are still using this fabulous sunscreen. Stocking up again and the family will be protected from burning sun rays and one big plus is Badger Baby Sunscreen is good for all faces, protects and moisturizes. Another reviewer mentioned this sunscreen attracts bees. Yes it has bees wax in the ingredients, a very good addition in helping skin retain moisture and stay soft. Bees wax itself in a lotion is not a major attraction to bees unless the product has a sweet scent. The camomile in this lotion is not a strong attraction to bees. We love this sunscreen and have been using it for many years. Great company. Never had a problem with it attracting bees. A side note – we don’t wear perfume when hanging out in the sun or during outdoor activities, just a preference of ours.Only sunscreen we use. For me, I make a thinner base and add NOW Organic Avocado Oil and Organic Jojoba Oil. To cut the shine down I take a soft brush and apply a very light dusting of arrowroot powder. Add a natural DIY bronzer, and good to go. My skin ranges from normal to dry and craves a good moisturizing base. For family sun time we use it right out of the tube. Very easy to spread and smells good. Not one complaint from the tribe and it’s very good sun protection. Safe, easy, and nice on the skin.

I’m really happy with this purchase! I read the reviews before this purchase and a lot of people said this was hard to spread, but I don’t find that at all. Maybe if the tube was chilly, but I find it to be soft enough to go on easily. Yeah, its greasy but that’s what you’re signing up for with this product with clean ingredients. The base is oil and that’s a good thing. I’ve used it on my baby for a couple months now and no obvious burns. Granted, I do still always cover him up as much as possible but his face can be exposed from time to time.

Rates well on Yuka app. No alarming chemicals! It does feel like hard clay coming out of the bottle, you really have to squeeze but it goes on pretty smoothly. We used for my 1yr old at the beach for 5 days and no sunburn! It’s more expensive but ingredients are worth every penny.

Great mineral sunscreen for kids! My daughter has extremely sensitive skin and this is the only sunscreen that doesn’t break her out or leave her skin red (and we’ve tried every “clean” sunscreen out there). The formula is thick but moisturizing, doesn’t leave a white cast and protects my kids from the FL sun
