  1. Laura

    Excellent quality. Awesome health benefits
I purchased this after extensive research on fish oil for a health /nutrition class. Turns out, pretty much all fish oils on the shelves are rancid. The fermentation process creates natural antioxidants that protect the oil from oxidation and going rancid! Fermented cod liver is the way to go! Great source of Vit A & D and omegas. So many health properties of cod liver oils. I have sharper thinking and keeps my inflammation away! 🙂 You can still taste the fishy oil taste but for the most part, company does a great job masking it so its at least palatable .

Great for the teeth & heart, tastes good
Awhile after opening it it seems to lose some of its cinnamon flavor but otherwise it tastes good. You can barely taste the fish. And I am sensitive to that flavor. I am devoted to taking this because a dentist had told me I needed a root canal and after I started taking it (this brand of fermented cod liver oil was highly recommended by a book on healing your teeth) all my pain went away. I have been mostly pain free for about 7 months and did not get my tooth worked on yet. It is still functional in my mouth! I also feel that it helps my heart. Get this stuff. You can squirt it under your tongue with the syringe thingie and drink some water and that’s it. No fishy aftertaste or burps. I am on my 4th bottle now I think and ordered the bigger one, which is plastic BTW and does not come with a syringe so I refilled my glass one with it.

  3. DEE

    Quality
I looooove this stuff! Our pediatrician recommended it for our kids to boost their immune systems. We got the cinnamon flavor and it truly masks any type of fishy scent. My kids take it and have no idea it’s cod oil. We just tell them it’s cinnamon vitamins. This is such a good quality oil and we give it to our 3 kids and still have plenty left.

Best Cod liver for Omega 3s
Best Cod liver I ever tasted. Smell great and easy to swallow. The cinnamon actually masks the fish taste but it is not bad at all.Sometimes the cinnamon can be irritating as it is too strong.I love how it is fermented and good for you.It is quite expensive but worth it because the ingredients are good.

  5. Alicia Shaffer

Smells like death, no returns allowed
We have been taking cod liver oil for years (Rosita or Earthley). I decided to get this for my son when our Rosita was running low. It’s touted as “orange” flavor and I thought he would likely want it.He nearly threw up. I wish I would have smelled it before trying to give it to him. It smells like a dead animal.Accidentally ordered 2 bottles and we will use one spoonful and not eligible to return. Absolutely do not waste your hard earned money on the liquid unless you have no sense of taste or smell.

  6. M. Whitworth

Top-Notch Quality — A Must in Our Routine
This supplement is a non-negotiable in our daily line-up. The quality is consistently top-notch, and it’s the only brand we trust for this product. We’ve seen great results and will continue to repurchase. Highly recommend if you’re serious about clean, effective supplementation!

  7. Brianna Winter

    Fishy Lemon
The taste is not the best, but it helps with my lipids.

  8. Cole Malan

    Works great, taste terrible
Thought I was getting a capsule not a tincture. The taste is very strong, and you’ll taste it for the rest of the day.

Green Pastures Fermented Cod Liver Oil is the best of the best of Cod Liver Oils. This is the only one I use, and the following explains my reasoning.I’ve prepared the following to help you decide for yourself.Cod Liver Oil vs. Fermented Cod Liver Oil: A Comparative AnalysisCod Liver Oil (CLO)- Extraction Process: Typically extracted using high heat, chemicals, or solvents (like hexane) to separate the oil from the fish tissue.- Nutrient Profile: Contains vitamins A and D, and omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA).- Downsides:- High heat and chemical processing can damage and denature nutrients.- May contain contaminants like PCBs, dioxins, or heavy metals due to industrial extraction methods.- Often deodorized and bleached, which further reduces nutrient potency and natural flavors.- May cause fishy burps or reflux.Fermented Cod Liver Oil (FCLO)- Extraction Process: Extracted using a natural, low-heat fermentation process that mimics the process of digestion in the human body.- Nutrient Profile: Retains highly bioavailable vitamins A and D, and omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA). Additionally, fermentation enhances the production of natural co-factors such as:- Fat-soluble vitamins K1, K2, and E.- Antioxidants like carotenoids and flavonoids.- Essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, and zinc.- Benefits:- The fermentation process helps to pre-digest the oil, making it gentler on the stomach and reducing fishy burps.- Increased nutrient potency and bioavailability due to the presence of co-factors and the natural extraction process.- Lower risk of contaminants, as fermentation helps to eliminate impurities and toxic substances.- Enhanced immune function and overall health due to the presence of additional vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.- Natural flavor, with no need for deodorizing or bleaching.Comparison- FCLO is considered superior due to its natural, low-heat extraction process and higher nutrient potency, including the presence of additional co-factors and minerals.- CLO may contain contaminants and have lower nutrient bioavailability due to the extraction process and loss of co-factors.- Both supplements provide essential omega-3 fatty acids, but FCLO offers more overall health benefits due to its enhanced nutrient profile.
