Make going to sleep so much easier
Now and then I need something to get to sleep and slow my brain down, and these work perfectly. They are extended release so I usually get closer to 6 hours of sleep instead of 4 with the non-extended release. They are small and easy to swallow and work great. Have noticed no side effects like being hazy/sleepy the next morning.

More effective than instant release
This extended release is more effective for me than instant release at 0.5, 1, 3, and 5mg, as well as another brand’s timed release. Improves the quality of sleep and reduces amount of wake-ups at night. Slightly less effective at inducing sleep so I take it one hour before sleep time.Nature Made has been consistent for me and this brand and extended release was recommended by my doctor. I normally don’t like to order supplements on Amazon due to the risk of commingled inventory but this one is difficult to find in stores and my orders have been fine so far.

Works well for our needs
my wife and I have been taking melatonin for multiple years. One thing that we learned is that the more milligrams you take, the less effective it is. We find ourselves using anywhere from 3 to 4 mg at a time. This particular product suits our needs very well.We most often find ourselves falling asleep within 10 to 15 minutes after we take it. I cannot say nor will I say that everyone will have the same experience but for us, it works great.PROS: quick dissolving, fast actingCONS: none noted at this time

With extended release I get fairly good sleep most nights although I still wake up once or twice but fall asleep again quickly. I take 1/2 5 mg tablet along with the 4 mg extended release tablet one to 1 1/2 hours before bed. Works most nights

The Best on the Market
I’m a pharmacist and while some companies tout their products to be #1 recommended by pharmacists, that claim is often dubious at best. However, in the case of Nature Made brand products, this claim has been true in my experience talking with colleagues, and would be my personal recommendation. Let me tell you why…More than any other brand that sells OTC supplements of which I know, Nature Made sports the “USP” symbol. This abbreviation stands for United States Pharmacopeia, which, for all intents and purposes of this review, can be thought of as an independent 3rd party with strict quality assurance testing procedures for chemical purity and good manufacturing processes. If a product earns this “USP” designation and displays the symbol on the bottle, you can rest assured that what the product says it contains on the label (ingredients and their percentages), it really does contain. Since the FDA does not regulate OTC supplements, many products are able to label and claim a product contains “Vitamin X”, etc., without actually having to contain much (if any) of that ingredient as long as they put on a disclaimer (often in small, inconspicuously placed print).Now, while many Nature Made products have this USP symbol, I don’t believe their melatonin does (instant and extended release formulations). While it would be nice for it to have this designation, I know of no other product that has it either, so, if I have to pick any brand, I’m going to pick one that has good manufacturing processes in place for many other supplements and is known for high standards.Sleep well my friends!
