Doesn’t smell like the American or Italian cooking rosemary
We ordered this to make an herbal blend for our hens and were really surprised to find the scent of these Egyptian rosemary “leaves” do not smell like the rosemary we have in our USA based garden. They resemble rosemary leaves for our own plants but without the nice Italian cooking scent.Upon reading about Egyptian rosemary, it seems the rosemary oils and properties we want for our hen’s health are still in this Egypt version, but we want to smell as it deters rodents when we add it to our flock’s feed.Otherwise the quality is good – no extra stuff like pebbles or sticks – and we went ahead and used in in the blend as we really need to make the herbal concoction that week. We will continue to look for the rosemary leaves that have more of the American (Italian seasoning scent) as that is our preference. If you only need to oils and the plant, this might work out well for you.

Perfect for cooking and baking
Originally, I had seen the previous reviews say this had plastic in it. Perhaps they had bad batches. I’ve had nothing of the sort. This works for dishes you bake and simmer. It is not strong until it cooks for about 1 hour. To create rosemary oil, I fill half of the jar with rosemary and half with olive oil. I let it sit for 4-12 weeks and use it for cooking. This is also great for baking fresh bread. You only need a little as it can be strong.
