I have very fair skin, even after lifeguarding for 7 years I was never able to get a natural tan. Unfortunately, no matter what I tried I would only ever stay fair or burn. I had been given a lot of recommendations such as changing to a lower SPF but applying sunscreen more frequently or using more lotion and exfoliating. These methods don’t work with fair skin. If you have fair skin, it’s very difficult to tan naturally.I tried this lotion and so far the results have been fantastic. I’ve used it once on my arms and legs and the results showed the same day. Just keep in mind that when you apply the lotion, it doesn’t immediately make you tan. After you apply and the lotion completely dries (about 15 minutes), your skin gradually starts to tan. It took about 5 hours for me to really see the difference. I strongly suggest testing it on your arms/legs first before using it on your face.If your wanting to try it, I suggest getting a self tanning mitt to help you apply it. It helps prevent staining your hands and prevents weird streaks as it distributes the lotion evenly so it looks more natural. When using this, if you’re trying to tan your feet, legs, knees, thighs at the same time it’s important to know that in areas like your feet, and knees it will tan very well compared to your legs and thighs even though you’re using the same amount. Areas like your legs and thighs have thinner skin and need more lotion than your feet to tan. I suggest using the same amount on your legs and thighs but apply it at least 2 different times (2 days) for it to even out.The lotion itself if very light, non oily, and dries about the same as regular lotion. It smells ok, very mild. The scent isn’t overpowering and fades away fast. The one I got is fair to medium, so it looks more like a light tan. It isn’t super dark and looks more like a sun kissed tan after 1 use. If you want darker, then the bronze lotion is what you need to choose.Overall, this is worth the price and it’s a 100% healthier than trying to sun tan or going to a tanning booth. It helps you tan safely, with no worries of burning or getting skin cancer. I highly recommend this, just make sure you read the instructions to apply it properly.

This product works really well on someone that has fair skin color. It does not streak or leave your skin orange like most self tanning lotions. It smells like coconut and leaves a nice sunkissed tan color within a half an hour. Definitely worth the money!

Natural looking, non transferring fake tan!
I truly love this self tanner! I have an autoimmune disease that does not allow me to expose my skin to the sun, so I have tried just about every brand of self tanner out there and this one is by far my favorite so far. It goes on white, which made me nervous the first time I applied it but it did not streak, and as long as you are paying attention and completely covering the area you are applying it to, you will not have any missed patches. It does not feel sticky, does not have a strong self tanner smell, does not transfer to clothes or sheets and the tan developes to a natural tan color, not yellow or orange. I use the medium/dark tanner. I have tried both the lotion and the foam. I tend to like the foam better for a quick even application that also fades evenly because it doesn’t seem to collect and end up darker on dryer places on the skin such as the knees, ankles or elbows. The lotion is thicker and it seems to penetrates the skin deeper. The upside to the lotion though, is the color seems to last a little longer for me. Just be diligent about exfoliating the dryer areas on your skin particularly if you’re using the lotion. Also, be sure to moisturize your skin in between applications.

This product really works! Got better as the day went on. Easy application, no residue or greasy. Beautiful, realistic and matched my skin perfectly. It covered my imperfections just like a good tan would. I’m over 50 years old, Caucasian, olive skin tone and tan easily. Never stained my clothes (read instructions). Glad made in the USA!

Best self tanner out there!
This is the best I’ve ever used!! Goes on clear. Dries fast and last at least a week if you don’t use body scrub until you’re ready to reapply. It coated evenly. I use a small soft brush applicator. Love love love !!!

Orange and smelly
Tans good, but do not be fooled, no matter what others say this absolutely does tend towards orange.And it does have that awful odor just like all self tanners.Still, if I continue to self tan I would buy from this company.

So far so good! It’s a gradual tanner, started seeing the tan about an hour & half after applied and then obviously got darker over night. Smells good initially and then like the other self tanners the smell is very obvious “self tanner” lol but really appreciate it being low tox! So I’ll be buying again. Also a bit pricey for the size of the bottle. I thought it would be bigger. Overall happy with my purchase.

I have used St. Tropez for a long time and thought I would give this product a try. I never experienced the orange tone and unevenness on my feet like this before. Some reviews said it didn’t smell like the typical self tan but this product certainly does. I even tried applying with the soft brush which was new to me as I had always used a mitt . Glad I only purchased the travel size , will go back to my other brand.Since this review I thought maybe it was just in the application so i decided after a good exfoliation to give it another try . I had to physically remove it from my skin after about 3 days it was causing a little bump type rash and itching like crazy you can see in the photo where I’ve scratched the product off my skin because of the itching . My skin is not sensitive at all so not a good review from me and will have to throw it away .

Just make sure you exfoliate and moisturize well before applying as you will see dark areas where the skin is dry and/or rough and if this happens, you will need to wait for the colour to fade before re-applying or it will get worse.
