A well-researched “CliffsNotes” of bone and joint health!! A MUST read for EVERYONE!
This book is a MUST READ for EVERYONE! It explains a complex medical topic in a way that is simple to comprehend and tackles it with a holistic approach. There’s a plethora of books out there that teaches you the importance of bone and joint health and they can be very intimidating to read. What I love about this book is that it is the “CliffsNotes” of Bone and Joint Health, BUT still has the richness and complexity of a well-researched, science-based book. The 3-part chapter is short and gets to the point. The recipes in part two are simple and easy to make. They can easily be implemented into your weekly meal planning. The ingredients are readily available at your local supermarket (you may already even have them in your pantry/fridge). The 3rd chapter is the final piece to the puzzle of bone and joint health and an important one that cannot be ignored. The workouts are simple enough for a beginner (of any age) to follow, without the use of any special equipment, but can also be modified for someone who wants more of a challenge.I highly recommend this book because I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for everyone to start taking care of their bone and joint health. This book is a vital resource for living a healthier quality of life, not just for the present, but for years to come.

    Excellent resource!
Love this book as a resource for my patients! sometimes it is just way too hard to simply all women need to know about their bone health into one consult for back pain–ever since this came out, I’ve recommended it to every one who wants to learn more. It is concise, simple, and attainable recipes and exercises for the average person. As a PA disheartened by the amount of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis I treat, thank you for writing this!!

Fantastic! As a physician I’m now recommending this for my patients.
Amazing book! I am a physician. I specialize in cancer, and many of my patients are interested and motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives to become stronger and healthier. This is a perfect way to get started living healthier and stronger with great recipes, and practical exercises for people of all levels of fitness including beginners. I am strongly recommending this for all of my patients. I put an extra copy in waiting room. This book is well written and easy to read. 5 stars.

    Highly recommend!
This is a great book! I like the combination of nutrition and exercise advice in one book. Even though I’ve been exercising and seeking to eat healthy for many years, I think that this book was definitely worth reading. The exercise descriptions are thorough and easy to follow. In addition, it is so helpful that the authors gave some suggested modifications to the exercises both for those who are just starting an exercise program as well as for those who are more experienced.I also found a lot of interesting and beneficial information in the last chapter where the authors answer some frequently asked questions.

Recipes and exercises at your fingertips.
The short version: a good reference to have on hand, though padded out with a lot of recipes.Going by page count, this book is roughly 30% recipes, 40% exercises (with photos), and about 20% info on nutrients and nutrition. If you’re looking for in-depth info on the pathology of the musculoskeletal system as it ages, you won’t find it here — but you will find very actionable, practical ideas. Here’s the thing: in today’s overwhelming information economy, often the best reference is the one that’s right at hand and easy to reference. You can absolutely get more in-depth information online for any of the topics the book covers, but this collates and presents the basic information and puts it in context. (Another reason the internet can’t replace books!)There’s a wealth of great information tucked away in the back of the book, in back-to-back long Q&A answers. Info on osteoporosis drugs, the role of hormone replacement therapy, and a lot of other relevant topics. I would have loved to see that section fleshed out (and broken up a bit visually to be more approachable). I also don’t think the HRT info is up to date, but what else is new.I do suspect the focus given to nutrition by the authors is greater than the actual impact tweaks to one’s diet can change — our society loves to think we can control all our health outcomes by what we put in our bodies, which isn’t always true. I’m not saying nutrition isn’t important, but can you fully control whether or not you develop arthritis or osteoporosis by making sure you drink a lot of green smoothies? No, there are genetic and environmental factors beyond our control. But as long as you understand that it’s just one piece of the puzzle, you can take this with the appropriate grain of salt.

Fabulous resource for bone and joint health!
I love how this book has information that is concise and very applicable to my daily routine. It is not only an excellent guide to bone and joint health and the science behind it, but also a complete resource of recipes and exercises to put that information into action. I loved it so much that I bought one for my daughter because it is never to soon to start caring for your bone and joint health! I

Excellent, practical book for women’s health
This book has been really helpful and informative. I find I can refer back to it often for recipe and exercise ideas. Not a one time read in the best way.
